However, since it was revealed last week that the program is probably a few billion shy of the funding it needs to meet the obligations of homeowners, it has been open season.

“Their incompetence is breathtaking,” said State Treasurer John Kennedy(D) on the Eyewitness Morning News last week. “Remember Otis of Mayberry, the town drunk, I think Otis is secretly running the Road Home program.”

LA is a cess pool, and will remain so.

Three years and they can’t even decide how to remove the debris.

“Can I get a receipt with that?”

“LA is a cess pool, and will remain so.”

Well, New Orleans, anyway.

Unfortunately, the left has been pretty good at tagging Katrina as a political issue synonymous with “evil republicans hating black folk and destroying the environment”. I wish the best of luck to anyone who can put the blame for the disaster squarely where it belongs - Nagin and Blanco.

“I think by all rights we should expect the federal government to do that,” she said. “Our disaster has been underestimated from the beginning.”

[snip]

Blanco said she is against spending state money on the Road Home program, but some lawmakers say if the federal government doesn’t help out, the state will have to cover the obligations.

So covering her mismanagement of rebuilding funds is now my problem, as a taxpayer????? Will someone in Louisiana please vote this stupid hack out of office....?

Blanco is already toast. She tied her name like a bow around the Road Home Program when it was initiated. She had paid dearly for that decision. She made a decision not to run for re-election recently.

Bobby Jindal will be our next Gov of Louisiana. Thank the Good Lord for that!!!

I hope you are right. Rascist democrats won’t vote for the guy, even though he’s the most knowledgeable well-spoken candidate, and smoked Blanco in the last gubernatorial debate.

Unfortunately, my home was destroyed and we had to move from Louisiana. My biggest regret is that I won’t be able to vote for Jindal for Governor. I will definately make a financial donation to his campaign to show my support, though.

One day, too, maybe we’ll get our Road To Home money—but I’m not holding my breath.

Yeh, but she's billionaire toast. She gets to retire (comfortably) on our nickel. How many dollars did she and her "family" remove (steal) from our money? You will never know, and I will never know.
Do the math...how does $1.5 BILLION go to 150,000 population and it still is NOT enough. Its no wonder she isn't running for re-election...she already won.
