Schwarzenegger Praises Obama (for introducing a global warming bill in the Senate.)
San Diego Union - Tribune ^ | 5/7/07 | John Marelius

We're still not sure what Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's era of "post-partisanship" actually is, but maybe this is it.

The Republican governor, who has not demonstrated much enthusiasm about any of the Republican presidential candidates, just issued a statement heaping praise on Democrat Barack Obama for introducing a global warming bill in the Senate.

"I applaud Senator Obama for introducing legislation to establish a national version of California's groundbreaking Low Carbon Fuel Standard. By adopting our approach of employing enforceable standards and market competition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Senator Obama's legislation, like the bipartisan legislation proposed by California Senator Dianne Feinstein, can dramatically increase investment in low-carbon fueus at the same time it effectively fights climate change, expands consumer choice and rewards innovation."

Robert Salladay has this on his blog at the LAT as well

The Schwarzenegger-Obama connection

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/politicalmuscle/2007/05/this_was_inevit.html

(Excerpted)

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office sent out a press release today touting a global warming plan by U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, a Democrat. The presidential candidate from Illinois has introduce a national carbon-reduction initiative based on Schwarzenegger’s own efforts in California unveiled in January.

Schwarzenegger has said he’s inclined to endorse a Republican for president, but may not make any decision in the primary. The GOP governor already has held a high-profile meeting with U.S. Sen. John McCain, also about global warming standards, and with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Former Gov. Mitt Romney received a private meeting last week. Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said the governor and Obama have never talked.

Schwarzenegger’s log-rolling with candidate Obama came after the senator’s campaign issued a press release that said: “I’ve introduced a proposal known as a National Low-Carbon Fuel Standard, based on the one introduced by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California just a few months ago. Like raising our fuel-efficiency standards, this approach simultaneously reduces our dependence on oil and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.”

The governor’s office made sure reporters knew this fact, buried inside Obama’s release today about a speech he gave to the Detroit Economic Club. Obama’s plan would require oil producers to reduce the carbon content in their fuels by 1% a year.

One of Arnold’s movies could create a hole in the ozone. Man I’m so glad for the natural-born clause in the Constitution.

If he’d vote for DiChiFi or, at had at least worked damn hard at campaigning for a Republican candidate that ran again’ her last time which he didn’t, I’d say The Gub was playing the field fast’n’loose ,, but ... what Progressive doesn’t these days in either party..

Like the shifting winds of time, they are like just opportunists, a political elite that ebb and low on the real and imagined crises, out to save the world one carbon credit at a time.. Gorebalism and 2 of its adherents on display here, nothing more..

Is it not amazing that these people, initiating all of this GW scam crap, are not scientists, nor do they have any hard science that clearly demonstrates there is even a problem of any consequence.

Show me the science, and I will sign up for the program. But the scam artists deliberately picked an unprovable issue that only junk consensual science “supports”. Just follow the money — our governorator is out of his freakin’ liberal mind.

Arnold should have stuck to real estate development. He did well with that.

The only explanation I can think of for Arnold’s behavior lately is that Maria caught him with his pants down.

I was going to suggest that everyone flood the mailbox of the chairman of the CAGOP.

I went to their website to look for an email address and found a picture of John F. Kennedy on the homepage.

Is the party totally lost?

Our manmade world is going to change very quickly with all the GW legislation being dumped into the hopper by the freaking idiots we’ve elected. And it’s going to be a much less pleasant place with hot buildings in summers, cold buildings in winter, tiny cars, slow roads and higher costs for every product you buy.
