It has been fun reading some of the lefty blogs’ reaction to Sarko’s victory. They are completely stunned.

Even though he is more like a moderate Democrat (there really are no true conservatives in Europe), I am very happy that he won. I don’t think he wants Turkey to enter the EU.

He's opposed to Turkey entering the UN, and for good reason. Why would he want to win an election and then have more muslims to deal with? Makes good sense to me.
