Ping
I think the site owner has ruled him out.
He’s listed on the bottom right.
lol...those two had their names with a strike through. It didn’t come through in the html and I did’t catch it in preview. I don’t mind adding him on the next header update, later today/tomorrow. I’m just providing the info, not being selective, I knew he had been ruled out earlier though.
I don’t think he’s much of a factor. The thing is, to be “fair” we have to keep a number of these guys in the discussion, but if we’re honest, we know there are a few who are going to be in the final three. At this point I’m thinking that for various reasons Romney is going to be the “conservative” of the current trio in the lead, which only makes me want Thompson to run.
I’d like to see a link for Ron Paul listed, not because I think he has a chance of winning, but because he brings up issues that I haven’t thought of, and then I can take that and see how the other candidate’s stand on those issues.
That goes for each of the candidates you have listed at the bottom with no links. Would be helpful IMO, to have it all on this one thread.
Your Newt site is linked to the Huckster.
Sounds fine to me. I’ll get the info included and update. Likely be tomorrow/later today. I’m heading for the pillow :) I have a pretty short ping list, so feel free to ping others to the thread. Thanks for both your input, it’s much appreciated!
Thanks! Looks like the only one that’s off. Easy enough. In the mean time I believe Newt’s site is http://www.newt.org
“That goes for each of the candidates you have listed at the bottom with no links. Would be helpful IMO, to have it all on this one thread.”
I agree, especially with having it all in one place. Makes it easy for me. Heading to bed, I’ll update tomorrow! Nite.
You should list all the candidates and links to their web sites.
Nice JW.
Good morning, Jedward...
Thank you for the invitation to your new thread — the header is, as far as I can tell, very professional and visually appealing....
A small, humble suggestion: Rename the thread to “The Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic Thread”...
Or, at the very least, include an entry for “None of the Above”....
I’ve been told (nicely, so far) that these are the candidates we’ve been offered, and, if I want to keep my “conservative” credentials, I should just shut up and choose between them.
Hogwash.
I refuse to hold my nose and “settle” — I believe that our Nation is in Crisis, and I will continue to speak out against those who would perpetuate it (or, worse, ignore it), and insist - nay, demand - that we be presented with more than we’ve been given to date.
We deserve more than we’ve been offered, and I, for one, withhold my support until I’m presented with the candidate that is worthy of the challenges we face.
Show me a candidate who does not make obeisance to punditry, pollsters, and political correctness.
Show me a candidate who openly declares that we are at war abroad and at home, and will unabashedly name *all* of our enemies, foreign and domestic - and vow to defeat them all.
Show me a candidate who will reverse the congressional coup against the presidency - not one who is (or was) a congresscritter with a vested interest in perpetuating the coup.
Show me a candidate who, when presented with the proposition that “The majority of Americans believe this country is heading in the wrong direction”, does not automatically translate that to “We’re not Liberal enough”.
Show me a candidate who has the courage to tell us that it is NOT the job of Government to make us all “happy, healthy, wealthy and wise”.
Show me a candidate who holds “Principle” above “Compromise”, and refuses to sacrifice one for the other.
Show me a Leader.
ive studied on the subject, and my conclusion is now clear
fred is formidable
he is a man of strength, character, consistency, and with his own internal locus of control
this is no northeastern republican in name only
unlike president bush unfortunately, who is also good person, thompson has a thoroughly-integrated theme and vision of america that deeply reinforces our identity as a nation
the only bi-partisanship fred will care to achieve is through his very nature - he is hard not to like as a person despite differing views
fred is articulate, confident but not cocky, intelligent but guided by experienced common sense
no other candidate on either side has such an appreciation of the fundamental issues that will affect america in the years to come
like jesus in the garden of gethsemane, thompson is taking the time now to savor the last moments of a private quiet life of comfort - sacrifice awaits
a towering man (66) that only seems amplified by soaring ideals
remember this moment - world history in the making
How can we forget him if he won’t leave?
I personally appreciate your thoughts. I’m going to keep as far as possible from even remotely giving the impression that I’m trying to steer anyone to a particular candidate. I will, however, provide current information available for the candidates and likely candidates for the primaries.
Good morning, Jedward!!!
Sorry if I came across as disparaging your effort, and I certainly didn’t mean to impute to you any “agenda”....
My argument is not with you — I am in search of a “Revolutionary”, and as I look over the current gaggle, I see points along the continuum labelled “More of the Same”.
I share the opinion as to some being “better than the others” — while categorically stating that “better than” is not the same as “good enough”....
We need to crawl “out of the box” — and then throw the box away....
