In August 2000 Chicago cabdriver Mohammed Haroon, an illegal alien from Pakistan, murdered his wife, Shapara Sayeed, on a Chicago street in broad daylight. They were practicing Muslims and she wore the gear. In fact , she was here legally on a temporary “religious scholar” visa. Mohammed doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. Reason for the killing was never clear, but an early radio report said Mohammed was upset because his wife had registered for English as a Second Language classes at one of the city’s community colleges. Might have been men there. Even some non Islamic men. Mohammed died of illness while awaiting trial so we never did learn all the details. And, if the PC Chicago media knew more, they would have spiked anything that reflected negatively on Islam. This was before 911.
