first paragraph was great. don’t really care enough about the topic to read the whole thing, however.

Then he lost me, and then he had me again, at "..exquisite Sapphic disdain.."

No offense,but this is the worst article that I have ever read by Mark Steyn.

That is not saying a whole lot, but at least I used less words than he did in a single paragraph.

Mark, Dude, get back to the root of your appeal.

Usually Steyn is awesome, but this one was a real snoozer.

That comming out thing went reaaaaaaly well.

It began with Ellen getting dressed for a date. "You've been in there forever!" yells her flatmate through the closet wall. "Are you coming out or not?"

The “news” magazines weren’t alone in recognizing the earth-shattering nature of the event. The Miami Herald hailed Ellen as “a gay Jackie Robinson” - although, in fairness, he’d been black all along, rather than deciding to turn black at the end of the fourth inning.

Time magazine's cover two weeks ago ("Yep! I'm Gay'') had a news value somewhere between "Jesse Jackson: Yep! I'm African-American" and "Helmut Kohl: Ja! I'm German."
