During several weeks of calls to possible clients of the woman dubbed the D.C. Madam, Brian Ross of ABC confirmed that some fairly important people had used her escort service. But when he put together last night's segment for "20/20," the network's chief investigative reporter decided against outing anyone beyond the two people who already had been identified. "They just weren't newsworthy enough," ABC's Brian Ross said of the names. (By Donna Svennevik -- Abc)
"Their names won't mean anything to our audience," Ross said in an interview. "They just weren't newsworthy enough." Instead, he said, "what we really wanted to do is demonstrate the range of official Washington" involved with the escort service. Their positions, as described by Ross, made them important, at least by the capital's standards: A federal prosecutor, who recently died. A handful of military officers, including the head of an Air Force intelligence squadron. A senior official at the World Bank and other officials at

You raise a good point. If there were ANY substantial Republicans on the list, these would have been disclosed imediately. So far, all they got was a low level State dept hack. Probably more than a few prominent Democrats there.
Strangely, the list only included janitors and professional Mimes. Who would have thunk it?
Pfffft. I’ve actually been to Nassua, about the same time.
I have motive....50 million of them.
Opportunity....I was in Nassua in 2005.
Plus, I um er ah, loved her, or something to that effect, that’s not really important.
All you have is a dream!
Let's look at what ABC and Howie Kurtz are telling us.
First, that ABC was able to identify about 1,000 people on her list.
The underlings at ABC undoubtedly identified the 20-30 names they thought would be most embarrasing to conservatives and gave those names to Ross for him personally to call.
The following was probably their best hope for finding a "family values" conservative hypocrite to put on the air:
"One guy swore to me up and down it couldn't have been him, he loves his wife," Ross said. The man, a well-known member of a conservative think tank, was right: Palfrey, Ross said, had repeatedly misdialed his number by confusing the 202 and 301 area codes.
But they came up empty with that one! The other 20-30 must have been real duds.
So all they really had was that poor Deputy Secretary of State whose job was to deal with the international aid crowd which is probably how he got caught up in this.
Their last gasp I would guess was to go after military officers, who after all often turn out to be conservative. But out of 1,000 clients they identified, there was only a "handful" of military officers (although that was enough for ABC to single them out as a group), and it seems only one poor Lt. Cdr. worth targeting, and ABC backed down on that.
So it's just a bunch of international aid bureaucrats and lobbyists. Gee, I wonder if ABC feels dirty and disgusting after their "encounter" with Ms. Palfrey?
Well lookie here! Nothing to see here at all!
Yup. I bet the list has one Democrat bigfoot after another after another.
Ted Kennedy is probably the first name on it, while (for the most part) our guys are "dry, sober, and home with their wives."

I guess that leaves out Oprah Winfrey and Paris Hilton.
I was shocked by the gun control segment on this same 20-20 show. They actually took the position that gun control does not work. Amazing!
One step forward. How nice to have a conservative planted in with the liberal media.
Here is the major point ABC has missed though, and most likely deliberately. This is but one escort service of about 136 operating in the Washington D.C. area, and the clients are people in Government, and some of the providers are also in Government. This one service has been operating since about 1993. Take those numbers generated since 1993, combine them with the other escort services, and you get a picture of a huge number of people in and around Government who are being escorts or clients.
This, once again, illustrated profoundly the adage that the laws are for the little people. Washington D.C. has passed any number of laws and instigated programs to fight prostitution, yet people in Washington D.C. are major violators, but they are untouchable. The law simply doesn't apply to them.
No chance, the workers were all girls.
As Rush said, they don't pay for the sex. They pay for them to leave when its over.
I think the madam has had her 15 minutes of fame ...yawns..time to go
Newsworthy enough = “we could not really destroy their lives enough.”
NOTE FOR FUTURE: If you want to destroy someone’s life just “borrow” their cell and call an escort service. Perhaps multiple times and just hang up.
The IMPLICATION will destroy them.
ABC is sick. I bet they KNEW they could not report the names other than for those who confessed without serious liability. So they claim to be spilling the names and then pulled back to get the ratings but without the liability.
But not surprising.
From the end of the article:
There may be another shoe yet to drop. ABC did not push to obtain Palfrey's earlier phone records, which cover a nine-year period. But Ross said she has given them to three journalists investigating the Clinton administration.
Interesting.
I also wonder just how many reporters were on her list.
Ted Kennedy is probably the first name on it
LOL wouldn't it be something if his partner in the waitress sandwich, and current DEMOCRATIC candidate for President , Chris Dodd was also on the list.
So THAT is where the Budget surplus went!
