I like ol Fred, and he did well tonight but Baehr makes a good point when he says we MUST do well in non-Southern swing states, and a Southerner may not be best for that.
I'm no Giuliani fan, but I'm also tired of Southerner administrations. Just tired of the whole closed "family" set up (Clinton will kill you if you talk, Bush will "get" you if you're disloyal)
I'm sick of this type of political set up. I want people who go to Washington to retain their rights and citizenship and be able to talk whenever they want to. Our culture is set up for individual rights, and just because the Southern mentality is clever at stifling that, does not mean we need our national representation hamstrung in the name of Southern Culture.
I would be much happier with Tancredo, Duncan, Romney, or anyone else NOT from the South (I have family there, so I can say that.)
We have to go all the way back to REAGAN for a non-southern administration! Enough is enough!

REALLY?? And how were these administrations any different from others?? FDR, Harry Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, (I won't go into Johnson, because he was "southern") ALL did the same kinds of things).

I don’t agree that there is something wrong with Southern culture. If anything, I tend to think Northeasterners (other things being equal) are more authoritarian and less respectful of others’ ways than Southerners are. But that may be true only of liberals in the Northeast.
