Red with black pick-guard. Action is so nice I press my Palm Pilot screen harder than the neck. And it’s a Mexican one.

Such a classic shape. Every curve just perfect.

I’ve had Strats — an American one, a Japanese one, and very good clone called a Tokai. I love ‘em and will probably own one again. But for right now all I’ve got is a crazy mid 60s Kent semi-hollow that I found at a pawnshop and a very good but very beat up 12-string acoustic. It has a solid spruce top and rosewood sides, a simple Martin style headstock, but no identifying labels or markings other than a little sticker that says “handmade in Israel”. I don’t know of any Israeli guitarmakers so it’s kind of a mystery.

There was a "celebrity dentist" down the hall from our office, and George Harrison was one of his patients (I'd seen him in the elevator and garage).

Once, while shooting the breeze with Dr. Stan, he grabbed me by the arm and gave me a tour of his office - he had leaning in a corner one of Harrison's electric guitars (..and I don't know a Fender from a Freddy). I imagine it became worth a buck or two when the Beetle died.

It was fun seeing his high profile patients come in and out, and sometimes exchanging a word with them. The one that impressed me most was Nicole Kidman; I'm just shy of 6 feet, and she stood at eye level with me. Beautiful complexion and stunning eyes.

Least impressive was Bob Dylan - I didn't talk with him, but he was unmistakable - looked like a homeless druggie who'd found his way to ritzy West Los Angeles.
