The news of late is filled with headlines about Fred Thompson, even if he says nothing.... By contrast, when I ran for Congress, the news media ignored my campaign.... Does anyone else smell fish?
Sour grapes perhaps, but definitely not fish.

Isn’t the author Tom Kovach?

(And, given that John McCain is weak on protecting our borders, and on protecting the unborn, it's hard to picture any true conservative voting for him.) I don't like John McCain, and he is weak on borders, but it is dishonest to say he is weak on the unborn.
He does have a very strong and solid pro-life voting record. He is not conservative, and he is crappy across the board, but there is no reason to be dishonest on him and abortion, since he has the voting record to show he is pro-life.

Who is Ted Kovaks and why does he think anyone cares about his feelings?

Well, you can't be a globalist in a pick-up truck, 'less it's amphibious.

In other words, it should be just as hard for a pro-borders conservative to vote for Fred Thompson as it should be for an anti-abortion conservative to vote for Rudy Giuliani. Uh, yeah, right. Fred isn't perfect on border issues, but on the balance his votes have been against illegal immigration.
Whereas Rudy is perfect on abortion. He has a perfect rating from both NARAL and Planned Parenthood.
So this attempt at moral equivalence is absurd, but par for the course from Whirled Nutz Daily.

Sour grapes, indeed.
He’s also either an idiot or dishonest.
While I certainly agree that I want someone strong on the border, the idea that NAFTA hurts the border is absurd.
Whatever NAFTA’s other flaws -— which are numerous -— like its free for them, but not for USA, being one -— the jobs in Mexico created by the free trade zone are the only thing that keeps the entire damn country of Mexico from packing up and moving here.

And, although it sometimes seems that the encyclopedia has Uncle Fred's photo next to an entry about the phrase "Southern gentleman," it remains true that Thompson was also a high-priced Washington lobbyist for many years.I don't see that the two are mutually exclusive. In fact, the fact that he was a HIGH PRICED lobbyist, might have been directly related to the fact that he was also a GENTLEMAN.

I’ll second the grapes, and I know fish like the back of my hand. Fred is no globalist, especially in the mold of the socialist Democrat party and how they take to globull baloney.
Fred is for freedom and Judges of original intent.
Run Fred Run, sure wanted to see you up on stage last night to see how you would stack up.
