In an alternate universe (read, the one we would be living in had November 22, 1963 just been another day), a second term Kennedy was going to release info that proved that the object that crashed in Roswell was a UFO and that the planned “moon landing” would be a fraud. The aliens and Armstrong couldn’t handle it, so it was decided that Armstrong would go back in time and shut Kennedy up./conspiracy mode.
