I disagree that LBJ was in any way capable of it. LBJ was in his element making good-old-boy deals across a table and/or room, but was intimidated as hell by the White House advisors he found when he took office. He deferred to them almost completely on virtually everything since they all had Harvard and Yale degrees, and he figured they were smarter than he was.

A man like that doesn’t cook up a murder scheme.

"A man like that doesn’t cook up a murder scheme."

I don't think so either. But I think he had prior knowledge and allowed it to happen.

Seems to me that JFK was the only person that didn't know what was going to happen in Dealy Plaza. Easy to keep a conspiracy secret if everyone else was in on it.

I think this guy has all the details.

When I lived in Austin many years ago, there were a great many people who said that LBJ had his first politial opponent shot in the tradition of old time Texas Politics.

“He deferred to them almost completely on virtually everything since they all had Harvard and Yale degrees” He may have not cooked up anything, but sometimes a fire gets lit right under the you know what.
