“It’s no accident that the Dims selected a Mormon to lead their Senate. They are trying to split our loyal Mormon allies from the Party Of Reagan.”

Believe me, those of us Mormons who are politically aware are mortified by Reid and would love to see him defeated at the polls. If splitting Mormons away was their tactic, it has backfired.

But just look at what a weak sister Reid really is. Weak mousy diminutive man, scratchy voice, no humor, corrupt business dealings, etc. That is the best choice to represent the Dim Senate Majority?

If you can think of a single reason why he's the Dim majority leader other than as a lure to Mormons toward the Dim party, I'd love to hear it.

Honestly, it should by all rights be Schmucky Schumer. He may be oily but his cold-blooded calculations in '06 (such as cutting off all funds to Xlinton, Nelson, etc.) was key to their victory in the Senate races. Reid has never done anything comparable for their party.

I think it is no coincidence that Reid is a Mormon. And I don't think it's any coincidence that Salt Lake has gone after the FLDS with a vengeance now (but not before the Olympic there). We've all know about FLDS for decades. Why now, eh?

There is a mighty strange confluence of events, all involving Mormons in this. I'm not suggesting anything sinister here. But I do think the Mormon vote and the public reputation of Mormons in general are in extraordinary focus right now. I don't think it's just a coincidence.
