Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone just because they are a Mormon is a loon.

And let me point out, I am a member of the 'religious right'.

Would you vote for an atheist? Would you vote for a Muslim? Does the truth about God and man matter to you? Mormonism is worse than a mere cult because it purports to be Christianity in face of every historical definition. How can I trust a man who firmly embraces so profound a deception? Electing a Mormon President is not tolerance of Mormonism, it is a mainstreaming endorsement. As a Christian I believe that government officials are "ministers of God". A Mormon President would be a minister of a false god. I think Hewitt has it wrong. I don't fit into any of his categories. I will simply not be responsible for putting a cultist enemy of God between God and our nation regardless of the consequences. If you don't think your vote will be judged by the God who judges "every idle word", think again.

Romans 13:3-5 (King James Version)

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone just because they are a Mormon is a loonAlright. What I am about to say does not mean I openly equate the two. But it does I mean I equate the two as being a "religious minority" group, since most comments like the above are based on the idea of not singling out religious minorities for any unusual treatment.

So, are you consistent? Would you say: "Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone just because they a Muslim is a loon? Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone just because they are a Satanist is a loon?"

All of these are religious minorities.

I am old enough to remember the stories of fear and mistrust because John F. Kennedy was a Catholic (the first Catholic President).

You heard similar complaints and accusations. I vote based upon the following:

Issues.
Integrity.
Intelligence (and the wisdom to use it).

I will not vote for a liberal, Muslim or an ex-president’s wife.

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a Mormon is a loon.”

You are sooooo right.

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a MUSLIM JIHADI is a loon.”

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a SANTERIAN CHOPPING OFF CHICKEN HEADS is a loon.”

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a SCIENTOLOGIST CRAZY AS TOM CRUISE is a loon.”

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a SATANIST is a loon.”

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a BHUDDIST ANTI WAR ABSOLUTIST is a loon.”

“Anyone who wouldn’t vote for someone just because they are a MADONNA KABALIST is a loon.”

Thank God religion means nothing in a Presidential candidate. That way moral views can also be as ephemeral as the mist. Everyone’s an atheist now.

"Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone just because they are a Mormon is a loon."

Then we've got more than our fair share here, because I tangle with people all the time that hyperventilate about Romney being Satan's servant in the White House.

Agree MEGoody; as you, I am a member of the so called “religious right:”. I have seen statements inferring that it is primarily the religious right that is against Romney. However, I have yet to hear a single negative comment about him from my conservative friends and associates. I would like to see some facts on this and not just out of hand anecdotal statements....

It is not bigotry to expose the truth of Mormons belief; they are definitely NOT christians. What disturbs me is other conservatives using the word bigotry to describe those of us who stand for Biblical truth. I guess relative thinking is OK in theology but not in politics ?
