I understand the temptation to try to find out if CF’s religion has any skeletons in it’s closet. I advise against it.

I personally don’t want to know what CF’s denomination is, if I don’t know, it’s harder to be accused of bashing him. Also the temptation to do so would be there.

I have stated earlier on this thread, that I have not attacked anyone’s religion, and was accused of attacking Christians by quoting from the Catholic encyclopedia on line about the Trinity.

Clearly, they can quote (and even misquote) about specific doctrines of our church and they are “Searching for truth” and if we quote from an encyclopedia, we are attacking. With that level of a playing field, I do not want to know anyone else’s religion lest that knowledge be used against me as an argument that some logical thing I have said is now an attack against them.

IF you want to know, FM CF and then keep it between the two of you, OK?

Actually, I'm just curious. His answers are so cryptic and disjointed. I just want simple answers to simple questions. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Do I believe unbaptized children go to hell? NO

Do I believe those who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ go to hell for not confessing his name? NO

There isn't anything difficult about that. See, California, real easy. Why doesn't he tell me what church he goes to? That is kind of strange, don't you think?

Why do I need to tell you what church I belong to when every Mormon already knows what church I belong to?

Need I spell it out? (Delf, you don't even need to "look away" for I am about to quote the Book of Mormon):

"And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." (1 Nephi 14:10)

See? According to every True Believing Mormon, I belong to

(A) the COTD Church (The Church of the Devil)

(B) alias COTWOATE (Church of the Whore of All the Earth)...

(C) Also known as TAC according to 1 Nephi 13:34 (That Abominable Church). ["...the most plain and precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb which have been kept back by that abominable church, which is the mothers of harlots..." (1 Nephi 13:34)

(D) As you can see, also thereby described by Mormons everywhere as the COTMOH (Church of the Mother of Harlots) [I'm sure (D) is the title of choice this season during "Mother's Day" time...but as long as they say it w/a "smiley" face, we won't be offended...:) ]

If you think that hurts the LDS "PR" image, then you can "tone it down" and refer to it as "The Church of the Dead Tree" [LDS are on record to have said "Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not Protestants, and the Church itself is not a Protestant church. The true Church is not a dead branch broken from a dead tree..."]

If, in case you want to "rev" it up again, as the "prophets" of US old did, you could call us "The Church of the Mormon Devil" [Brigham Young said that: "the Christian God is the Mormon's Devil..."--JoD, Vol. 5, p. 331]

Or, as John Taylor described every other church, it's "Hatched in Hell" Universal Fellowship (..."a perfect pack of onsense...the devil could not invest a better engine to spread his work" [than Christianity]--JoD, vol. 6, p. 167

Of course, according to more contemporary LDS apostles (like LDS apostle McConkie), we are about on the same par as "communism...Islam...Buddhism...Modern christianity in all its parts...Germany under Hitler, Russia under Stalin, and Italy under Mussolini." I've left out other "niceties" of what we've been labeled (Protestant and Catholic alike).

One of my points is simply this: If 1 Nephi 14: 10 says there are only "two churches"--and the LDS is the Lamb church, then it's not like we've been given this "neutral" title. Nor are we divided in the eyes of Mormon. We are "one" church. As such what difference does it make what "devilish" denomination I am? Why do you want to research "hell" itself if we are "hatched" there?

Of course, we all know what the title of this thread is...wanna tell us who provoked whom?
