“Oh, I too am perfectly fine with keeping your viewpoint. I am not fine when you proselytize. Then I will be the very vocal counterpoint. Everyone should be able to hear both sides of any argument don’t you think?”
Sure, everyone should hear both sides. And when you share your side, you are proselytizing as well. Go with God.
It is amazing, there are two kinds of Romney threads lately.
Type 1: Someone says something about Romney. Others debate about his political viewpoints, qualifications, etc. Thread ends at around 75 - 150 posts.
Type 2: Someone says something about Romney. Someone says something about Mormons. Mormons refute the claim. Others refute their refutations. Yada, yada, yada. Thread is lucky to stop at 1,500.
My point is, LDS Freepers aren’t on the attack here. We very rarely bring up the issue of religion until others throw it out, typically with inaccuracies, misconceptions, and/or tired accusations. This thread is an exception, as it addresses Mormonism as part of the original content.
Fortunately, everyone has recently learned how to be civil about it. Here’s to hoping that lasts.
I guess a big question I have is, given Romney’s rising prominence in the primaries, are debates such as these cathartic? Perhaps it’s good that everybody gets it out of their system - people such as yourself take the opportunity to vent your frustrations and make your viewpoints clear, and people such as myself learn to cope with the questions, grow a thicker skin, and be better representatives of our beliefs.
They Shoot Mormons, Don't They? Religious Bigotry, alive and well today
This isn't a Romney thread, this is a Mormon thread accusing us of bigotry.
sorry...I was a little quick on the trigger. I guess you already know this isn’t a Romney thread.
