The point is, there is no way to trace the remnants of a Nephite race that was entirely destroyed 1600 years ago. The Lamanites who were left were genetically altered by god, so trying to trace a genetic marker to a people who's lines came from a pre-curse is extremely problematic. The curse brought upon Laman was passed down to succeeding generations. IF you think this was not a genetic alteration, then tell me how succeeding generations also brought about the same curse upon themselves?
