What Christian considers the Bible incomplete or fraudulent?
I know we are into over 900 post but you look to see if we have covered that topic!
Mormons consider The Bible corrupted, or at the very least, “not enough.”
Regardless....even if just “not enough,” that IS NOT A CHRISTIAN BELIEF. Scripture makes it clear the Bible is the COMPLETE revelation of God and Jesus Christ. Revelation says if anybody adds anything to what was written, they will bring damnation upon themselves like a whirlwind.
If Romney is the nominee, I will seriously consider voting for him. I do NOT want Hillary in the White House. But, that does not mean I won’t stand up and condemn his beliefs.
And, somebody gullible enough to believe the silly beliefs of Mormonism like Jesus walked in America frankly does not have the intelligence fit to be president. I would be scared to have Romney in the Oval Office dealing with major decisions.
The fact that Mormons are nice and lovely people does not really matter. I have never told any of my Mormon neighbors what I feel about their beliefs, but then again, they have never tried to convert me either. I would rather respect their beliefs. But, when we are entering into a discussion here, I will say what I think just as you have the right to say what you think.
You would have me submit to a covenant and thus a yoke when Jesus has set me free from the Law and Jewish covenants. Are there other yokes you would have me submit to?
You think the Boston Globe wouldn’t have found it already?
The closest they could come up with was that he let his father invest in Bain Capital.
Hey, guys, my paper was supposed to be on a “contemporary controversial subject” and I guess it is.
Well, if that's not the "spirit of the age," I don't know what is. You're saying "If something is true for you, fine. But if something radically in opposition then that, too, is true? Whatever's true for you is fine; whatever's true for me is fine, too?"
I believe you’re misinterpreting Resty’s point.
The LDS Church agrees with the rest of Christianity that the Law of Moses was fulfilled in Christ; it was the lower law, and has been superceded.
The Abrahamic Covenant is a different matter. It applies to all of Israel - a word with several different valid definitions - and is still in quite full force.
Bruce R. McConkie rocks.
All I know is Jesus is wonderful and we’re all lost without Him.
“They are sinners just like the rest of us. They are not superior or....as one poster put it more blessed.”
Yes, we are sinners like everyone else.
And to say that “more blessed” = “superior” is a blatant misrepresentation of what I said not TEN words before.
And I have explained that three times already.
This one has got me steamed. If this is how you find all your ammo against us, it’s no wonder that we can’t find any common ground.
Stop misrepresenting what I have said as if it isn’t there for everybody to see.
I love my Church.
Today’s Relief Society lesson: “Forgiving with all your heart” It’s hard.
“Regardless....even if just not enough, that IS NOT A CHRISTIAN BELIEF. Scripture makes it clear the Bible is the COMPLETE revelation of God and Jesus Christ. Revelation says if anybody adds anything to what was written, they will bring damnation upon themselves like a whirlwind.”
We have been over this quite thoroughly in this very thread. Feel free to read through, but I for one am not going to beat that horse any longer.
“Well, if that’s not the “spirit of the age,” I don’t know what is. You’re saying “If something is true for you, fine. But if something radically in opposition then that, too, is true? Whatever’s true for you is fine; whatever’s true for me is fine, too?””
No, what I’m saying is that I respect your right to be wrong; and I ask that you respect my right to be wrong, too.
We’re not going to convince each other, so why get worked up over it?
I have the book, but yes, it is his, I never said I wrote it...
Abraham was not a Jew!
Matt. 11
28 ¶ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I never mention Moses!
Sorry this was for MHGinTN I never mention Moses!
