And Joseph Smith went to the moon where he met people who dressed like the man on the Quaker Oats box.
Quotation or apology...

Is it Marriott’s profound religious convictions which allow that family to make millions and millions off of the porn they pipe into their hotels knowing that is what they are piping into their hotels?

I expect that you are correct, Romney will be his own man as President. I will vote for whoever is our Republican nominee, I hope that nominee will be Fred Thompson.
Can I second that emotion?

Saundra, by her own admission on another thread, is a recent convert to the mormon faith, with the attendant fervor of same. I have no doubt that she feels the "burning in the bosom" and is truly aghast at what she is learning on these threads.
Saundra, Would you care to enlighten this gentleman a bit?

Or another way of putting it: Is "Anyone who supports Romney because they as a voter/citizen are Mormon is a pro-Mormon bigot." Yes? No?
I support fred Thompson for President. (run FRed)
I am a Moromon.
I am consistent, and I think any one who votes for someone for a secular office for a religions reason is a religious bigot. (it's my opinion)

Are you seriously saying that if a member of the Mormon Church gets into office that they will subvert the constitution and give the U.S. Treasury to the church? (Not that it has much but IOUs to the SS program in it now anyway.) If not please explain exactly what you mean by this. I'm saying that I would be very wary of giving the power of the Presidency to someone whose first loyalty is to ANY institution other than the U. S. Constitution. And, I am very aware of how seriously mormons take their temple oaths. I am also aware of the power of Executive Orders.
What makes you think that the DNC/media cabal won't be able to come up with all kinds of scary scenarious?

Needle nose_neely was not addressing you Delphi. There is no reason to apologize.
You have been told not to post to him, or about him, or reference his posts.
Why do you think you have the priviledge to disregard the warnings of the Mod.

Well, you would be wrong in that assessment...this incident happened in 1989....that was 18 years ago, and I have never once called the Mormon Church and request any additional information from them...there is a Mormon church just a 10 minute drive from my house, and I have never been there, or visited there....I have JW acquaintances, I have 7th Day Adventists friends and I have never requested any information from them regarding their particular religons....
I try to take people by their actions, and usually dont inquire about their own particular religious faith...sometimes ones faith does come in conversatons with people but that happens in the course of conversation...
But I have never inquired about the Mormon faith from the LDS church, nor do I intend to...
Am I correct in my assessment that you do not consider Mormons to be Christians, or am I mistaken?...just wondering...I got this meaning from your last sentence, and sorry if I have misinterpreted it...thanks for your replies...

TheBaitTell me specifically what bothers you about that pledge? How is that different from a Christian who believes they must dedicate all they are, all they have, all they ever will have, to the service of God? (I would hope most Christians believe that.)
Sorry, wont take the bait.
The oath speaks for itself.
Yes, it does doesnt it, it means a man actually has to put his money where his faith is.
I guess you would prefer another bill Clinton Big Bible presidency?

the government-allotted 2.0 children The fact that you believe that is hysterical. Uncle Sam never consulted me about my family planning, when I was going to get pregnant, how many pregnancies I wanted, how many children were in the target number as a family.

I have to admit, I've always wanted to dress like the man on the Quaker Oats box. Just a personal quirk.

Um, wrong. She posted the requisite Mormon Temple oath Mitt took and it contradicts the Oath of office and places his first fidelity to the Mormon Church, if he gets to the oath of office.
Please explain how the temple oaths conflic twitht he oath of office.
You already know I am a "Fredhead" so this is pure curiosity on my part.

It is rude and childish to follow a poster from one thread to another. It is harassment. FR is for the enjoyment of all, DelphiUser, not just you. This isn’t your personal sandbox. Learn to play nicely and you’ll be better able to further your arguments.

I don’t view Mormonism as Christian. I has born into an LDS home, baptized at age 8, and just last week resigned my position as “member.” I have been inactive in the LDS Church since about 1984. Only recently when I was converted to Christianity have I started openly discussing the ways I view Mormonism as a heresy of Christianity.
BTW all of my family members are Mormon. One cannot rightly say I hate Mormons. I love a large number of Mormons. I hate it that Mormonism takes them far, far away from the Savior, Jesus Christ as written in the Bible. The religion has distorted the teachings of Christianity. For that reason I fight against Mormonism.
Mormons are very, very good at being good people. Many are very, very bad at humility and admitting their own sins. They are “proud” as one poster put it. They do not look to the Savior for salvation, but as their own article of faith #3 states:
“We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.”
They think their own perfect obedience and works will earn them Exaltation and godhood. It isn’t a Christian teaching. This is just one example
