Paul has more in common with what conservatives used to stand for than what conservatives now stand for.
I’d say he’s 100% correct on everything but foreign policy. He’s actually correct in principle on that too, but wrong in a pragmatic globalist world.
Goldwater...there’s a ‘conservative’ of old. ‘Social conservative’, ‘compassionate conservative’, ‘neoconservative’, these are relatively recent terms.
