>> 10 days later, his wife Rebecca ordered that his food and water tubes be disconnected

Ten whole days! What a thoughtful "wife."

I hope the judge reads up on the law. Guardians MAY NOT order the death of their ward. It's murder. The one and only authority for removing the tube -- a privacy right under the law -- is for the patient himself to refuse medical care with "informed consent." (George Greer skipped that part when he ordered Terri's execution. In her case, informed consent was impossible because she couldn't have know about the future change in the law making PEG tubes "life support.")

Only if the patient is totally incapacitated can the guardian, subject to the ward's court protection, claim a degree of authority to substitute his judgment for what the patient would have wanted.

It took Michael Schiavo and his lawyers seven years and a few changes in the law to forge Terri's suicide note. This homicidal lady is in too much of a hurry.

Fascinating in this case, it becomes patently obvious as to wifely motives. She must be clueless or unconcerned as to how her motives show. In that respect, she is doing our perspective more good than harm by a simple illustration of base motive most anyone can grasp.

Thanks, Lesforlife!

Colorado’s Children’s hospital is at it again. Remember Dylan Walborn?
(Starved for 24 days because he had seizures and folks didn’t
want them to get worse!)

2 1/2 pound baby doing well, according to parents.

Hospital demanding heart surgery. Folks researched risk and
decline. Hospital demands spinal tap to determine whether
there is infection. Folks fear too traumatic. Baby has no fever.

Judicial hearing today to remove parental rights (parents have
no knowledge of where - hence no representation!)

Pray.

And yet even the diagnosis pushed by Michael and media was a faulty assessment...

......................................

Rhodes, Greece (LifeNews.com) -- A new international study finds that about forty percent of patients like Terri Schiavo who are supposedly in a persistent vegetative state are misdiagnosed and another fifty percent of them recover from their situation. The study finds the patients in question were in a minimally conscious state and could improve.

The studies, conducted by researchers in Belgium, found that the level of misdiagnosis has not decreased in the last 15 years. There were presented at the European Neurological Society Meeting in Greece.

Dr. Steven Laureys, from the Coma Science Group at the University of Liиge, stressed during the meeting that the vegetative state in a significant proportion of patients admitted to intensive care may be transitory.

"The study underlines the importance of extreme caution in any decision to limit the life chances of patients during the acute phase of a vegetative state," he said.

............................

Mexico City, Mexico (LifeNews.com) -- After successfully passing a bill to legalize abortion, lawmakers in the nation's federal district are now hoping to legalize euthanasia as well. The measure would legalize so-called passive euthanasia but pro-life advocates worry doctors would eventually actively kill patients.

The Democratic Revolution Party, which was behind the abortion bill filed on Wednesday, is the main sponsor of the euthanasia legislation.

Their measure would allow terminally ill patients to refuse any medical care that would prolong or extend their lives. Family members could make the decision in cases of patients who are unable to make their own choice -- hearkening to the international debate about Terri Schiavo.

Ping to wagglebee thread on the PVS topic I posted above.

This is from LifeSite News...

RHODES, June 21, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - News-Medical.net is reporting on a series of studies that show a high rate of misdiagnosis and inaccuracy in patients deemed to be in a "permanent vegetative state" (PVS). The researchers say that the problem is grounds for "extreme caution" in decisions that might "limit the life chances" of patients. The pretext of a PVS diagnosis is commonly put forward by the euthanasia movement as a reason to allow euthanasia by dehydration, as in the case of Terri Schiavo.

Katrina thread by wagglebee...

NEW ORLEANS, June 21, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Nurses Cheri Landry and Lori Budo, who have admitted to administering lethal doses of medication to patients during the hurricane Katrina disaster, are being offered immunity from prosecution by the Louisiana Attorney General.

CNN reports that in two weeks the two will testify before a Grand Jury that four patients died after being administered what Louisiana's Attorney General, Charles Foti Jr., called a "lethal cocktail" of drugs.

Terri was not PVS. All sorts of cognitive behavior was reported over the years. The PVS diagnosis was made to kill her. She had to be so designated, by law, in order to put her to death. Since Michael refused to divorce her and went to court hours after her death to claim her estate, we can say with great certainty: the PVS diagnosis was made to kill her FOR MONEY.

Chilling that this is the mindset of so many. To so many "birth" means no more than "berth". Thread by wagglebee.

Baltimore, MD (LifeNews.com) -- A new poll conducted by researchers at Duke University Medical Center and John Hopkins University has real concerns for the pro-life community. It found that 60 percent of Americans who are fertility patients would subject their human embryos to scientific research if they weren't going to birth them.

The poll asked patients what they would do with so-called "leftover" human embryos they had no desire to implant and give birth to in a full-term pregnancy.

Filing a wrongful death suit... The death of the child was wrongful, too. Thread by wagglebee.

RIVERSIDE, California, June 21, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Erica Goode died of toxic shock syndrome at the age of 21 after an abortion at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Riverside, California. Her mother, Aletheia Meloncon, has filed a wrongful death and medical malpractice suit against the abortionist group.

"I'm hoping to shed light and expose the negligent and improper care my daughter received," Meloncon said Wednesday at Schuler's Riverside office. "I hope this sends a message to Planned Parenthood."

Mikey is and always will be a scumbag. So's his money handling wife whose religion (Catholic) prevented her from marrying a divorced man but she could marry a man who did untold things to Terri and then had her killed. Is that the Catholicism you know, 8mmmauser? I wonder how their household teaches the little children about Thou Shalt Not Kill when MS promotes the culture of death when he's not in the medical wing of the Pinellas Cty Jail.

What Republican Sheriff hired him and then gave him as many days off (a relatively NEW HIRE w/no accrued benefits)as he needed to guard Terri while she was barbarically starved and dehydrated? EVERETT RICE (Greer's bud) hired Mikey and his replacement SHERIFF JIM COATES gave him the time off to make sure Terri would die on Mikey's terms (control freak on steroids?). REPUBLICANS KILLED TERRI. I wish Terri had the turnout that the missing pregnant woman got to comb the woods for her. There may not be any hope for Jesse but Terri was a living, breathing human being. It's shameful that people will look for a body but not rally to save someone who's still alive, alert and aware.

If lurkers, media and politicians can't make the nexus between a republican judge ordering her death and a republican sheriff hiring Mikey, joining the legislature to vote against Terri and hvg his republican replacement give Mikey time off to watch her die is still brainwashed or are guilty of pushing the b.s. This was a political hit job. Poor Terri. This is when the GOP started to have setbacks - on March 31, 2005.

1,800 people turn out for missing PG woman in Ohio. Unfortunately, Tampa Bay is so engrossed in sports and a mall culture with the exceptions that are bff now. I’m grateful for the out of towners and foreigners who did show up for Terri. We had good turnouts but not 1,800 people. If that many actually came, chances are they would have been arrested anyway.

To maintain focus on important factors, we may recall the role of pro-life in the months to come as a crucial factor.

Here is a thread by wagglebee on the issue.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The issue of abortion is seen as a top issue in the 2008 presidential election by 40 percent of Americans, indicating the contentious subject still plays a prominent role in how people case their ballot for president. Previous polls have shown that the pro-life position gives presidential candidates an edge.

The new figure comes from a survey the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press conducted.

It found that abortion is important for 38 percent of Democrats and 43 percent of Republicans and with Republicans tending to be more pro-life than Democrats that translates into an advantage for pro-life candidates.

How "they" think, Left wings considered. (Actually, this is PBS the BS we get to pay for as taxpayers...)

"The failure of 'gay marriage' as a national issue in the 2006 elections sends a message that the politics of division no longer work," said Dison.

Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, a political action committee focused on ensuring women's reproductive rights, said she believes voters are no longer mobilizing behind the more hard-line approaches to cultural issues proposed by some Republicans in the past.

"[In 2006] We saw a backlash against divisive attacks on a woman's right to choose because President Bush and his allies in Congress and in the states had overstepped and overreached," Keenan noted. "[Beginning with the Terri Schiavo feeding tube case] Americans witnessed firsthand what it meant for politicians to interfere in our personal, private medical decisions. Voters are beginning to connect the dots. They see the same politicians involved in the Schiavo case blocking stem cell research and undermining women's reproductive freedom."

Members of the pro-choice group EMILY's List, which provides money and guidance for pro-choice female candidates and works to help elect Democrats, said after having won Congress, they are now turning to the White House.

Brain cells are a terrible thing to waste. Consider this waste...

In "No place for politics in stem cell science" (Commentary, June 11), columnist Dennis Byrne states, "The politicalization of science by the left to further its political goals ought to end."

hat's an arguable position, but his selective attention to the issue is almost laughable. Can he really believe that the abuse and misuse of science is something that only liberals engage in? I suppose that the diagnosis-by-videotape of Terri Schiavo was sound science. Or perhaps the denial of evolution. Or the argument that homosexuality is just an (immoral) lifestyle choice. Or the assertion that abstinence-only sex education really reduces sexual activity and is an effective HIV prevention.

The list goes on, but suffice it to say that when it comes to the politicization of science, conservatives certainly have their share of egregious and embarrassing, not to mention dangerous, abuses to cop to.

Jill Stanek in WND has the following column. Suggest reading the whole article...

The [Supreme Court] Justices raise the likelihood that with this [PBA ban] ruling, the fetus faces greater brutality. On page 30, the Justices note the objection "that the standard D&E is in some respects as brutal, if not more, than the intact D&E [PBA]." That is, standard late-term D&E abortion appears to be more cruel than PBA….. [N]ow these kids will suffer more horrifically with this ruling than before, as we congratulate ourselves.

However, the very pro-lifers making this argument oppose fetal pain legislation, so their argument is disingenuous. Stated one member of this group, Brian Rohrbaugh, president of Colorado Right to Life, in an interview: ......................................................
