The State of California started this by promoting the day of silence. Now they want to silence anyone who disagrees. So who is it that is singling out a group of students and creating a climate of intimidation? Stalinism in our public schools.

If the State of CA promoted the “day of silence” then they should have had no problem with the simultaneous “day of absence.” That is what should have happened to the rest of the students in school - they should have stayed home during the gay demonstration. The first amendment provides for freedom of speech - it does not provide an audience.
