I never thought I’d ever to come the defense of old Mahmoud — but he has run afoul of some very, very perverse thinking.

I’ll bet these sharia-enforcers never, ever have a good day. I can picture them, keyed up and scowling, their fingers poised to point out the slightest infraction of the law of “Allah.”

I thought this was a sweet thing for him to do, made him look like he might have a bit of human decency in him, caring that much about an old teacher of his after all those years. I am equally dumbfounded, finding myself actually feeling a bit of-sympathy?pity?-for the Iranian sociopath.
