Well, I’m not commenting on Soros, but Benedict Arnold is one of the most misunderstood and maligned characters in history.

I could not disagree with you more strongly. Benedict Arnold was not misunderstood at all. He was angry his talents were not being recognized and used (in his opinion). He was willing to sell the lives of the men under him, his post and his country, all for a sum of money and a commission in the British Army.

George Washington, a man renowned for his fairness, coolheadedness and grace under pressure, had indisputable proof of the treachery of Benedict Arnold and acted accordingly, hanging the person who was carrying the papers, and passing sentence on Arnold in absentia.

Arnold was transmitting information to the enemy which could have resulted a terrible military loss, loss of many mens lives and even possibly the loss of the war if the intelligence had been gained and acted on by the British.
