Just went to lgf. unbelievable. I don’t know if your in the Bay Area but all those support structures shown are recent earthquake retrofit reinforcements. I can see a new boondoggle in the works now: making every inch of freeway in California resistant up to 5000 degrees.

"...I dont know if your in the Bay Area..." I'm on the right coast. California isn't known for sensible solutions to much of anything these days so I wouldn't be surprised.

Well, the Cypress Freeway was the freeway which collapsed in the 1989 earthquake and after wards, I think the entire span on that side of the bay was retrofitted so you’re right, a lot of what you see is relatively new construction.
