Pat is disingenuous when it comes to immigration and alot of his populous views. Do you remember his love affair with unions during g 92 campaign. I had a front row seat to the impressions Pat leaves on some minorities in this country. My daughter-in-law a fifth generation college graduate who incidentally paid her own tuition, and has climbed the corporate ladder due to ability and not affirmative action is a conservative. She is for low taxes, against abortion, pro second amendment devout Catholic a free trader and sends her kids to private school. She was apolitical until she married my son but he convinced her that the views she held melded with the Republicans and conservatives more so than anything coming out of the dem party. She saw Buchanan on MSNBC on several occasions and flips the channel now whenever he is on. She says he hates Hispanics and leaves her with a bad taste in her mouth. Her nephew was called a wetback by some little pos in middle school. They are not even from Mexico. She knows and agrees something has to be done about illegals but feels some of the messengers hurt the party and create racism. If Americans of Hispanic decent feel this way in any great numbers I think we as Republicans or conservatives can kiss goodbye our political chances of reversing the damage done by liberals. Words mean something and we need to change the language to affect the outcome we would like to achieve. I hate the pc crap but we need more the language of Jon Kyle and less hysterics from Pat Buchanan. After his rant in his latest column I still believe he is a racist. He is only on the mainstream media because he hates Bush. They started dragging him out on MSNBC right after the 2000 election. The other night he thought Hillary sounded like Reagan. I thinks his time has passed and our political concerns best addressed by other standard bearers.

Much of what you say is absolutely unrelated to Buchanan, and has to do with your bad experiences with racism, and those of your family and friends.

But I believe you are uncritically pairing these bad experiences with Buchanan, without any evidence that he is racist.

Did Buchanan call anyone a 'wetback' the way someone called your nephew?

Did Buchanan ever say he hated Hispanics?

Don't you think that the illegals (and liberals and other PC types) are going to throw any and all smears at Buchanan (or anyone else who disagrees with them), to further their agenda, even if the smears are not true?

Is any person who wants a more strict immigration policy a 'racist'?

If we let so many foreign persons immigrate each year that a large percentage never become loyal Americans, is that smart?

Can someone raise these issues and not immediately be labeled a racist?
