I still say that the reception that Bush got from the sailors and marines on that ship really angered the MSM and the Dems. That and the fact that he actually flew the plane.

The contrast between the respect Bush has from the troops and the non-respect they had for Clinton was so evident then.

The left kooks really came out of the woodwork then. The first thing I remember hearing was that Bush had better not use the carrier landing as a campaign slogan. The Mission Accomplished banner thing started a couple of days later.

The Mission Accomplished was for the ship mission, and the toppling of Saddam. Bush said in his speech that the war wasn’t over.
