Don't be mistaken. What we've seen in response to the PBA ruling is the opening shot in what will be a concerted effort to marginalize Catholicism and all but declare our creed a proclamation of hate. The low-level bigotry that has been occuring in the public square is about to be eclipsed by an institutional backlash that will make Samuel Alito the last conservative Catholic justice we see on the Supreme Court for some time. City legislatures - as we've already seen in S.F. - will begin by crafting laws that identify the Church as a malignant entity. Whether or not they are constitutional laws, the amount of time it will take before they could be struck down by the Supremes will be worth the exposure that will be given to the ideology
contra Petrus. Secular atheism is going to dominate entertainment and literary media, because they're going to figure out that most Americans aren't really sure God exists at all.
I'm telling you, it's coming. Catholics are going to be persecuted first (because we're institutionally tied to Rome), then maybe even simulataneously the Evangelicals, then Christians in general. It was just one little political cartoon in the Philadelphia Inquirer, but, in my opinion, it was no less than the starter gun in the race to finally remove Christ from this nation.
