We want to make you aware of a slap in the face the governor of New York has delivered to people of faith all across the country.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer who just a few days ago promised to sign a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in his state, should one land on his desk apparently has refused to sign a proclamation supporting Thursdays observance of the National Day of Prayer. The governors of the other 49 states have already issued such proclamations, acknowledging the need for America to unite in prayer.
Wont you take a minute or two no matter what state you live in to let Gov. Spitzer know what you think about his refusal to acknowledge the National Day of Prayer? Remind him that this country was founded as a Christian nation and he will insult and offend millions if he continues down the path he is on.
You may reach his office at: (212) 681-4580.
Pray for this governor...pray for our NATION...!!!!
Rather than pray for this governor, I’d say, Denounce this governor from the rooftops.
And expect to see much, much more of this kind of thing from the Rats. They are getting increasingly blatant about their real beliefs and real values.
Men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil.
I would think the governor would have problems going before the deity with hands covered in the blood of innocents. One of his major priorties is to everything he can to advance the abortion agenda.
It’s so much easier to do evil when you pretend God doesn’t exist.
No, but I’ve said a prayer for him. He’s gonna need it.
Don’t think worldly is a useful term any more. Maybe we should start using “under-worldly” for non Christians.
Uh, he**bound is an even better term, but it’s a little too base for some folks.
Just tried calling Spitzer’s number listed above and it appears the answering machine tape is FULL.
Thanks, Freepers.
Pray for New York...
Yes, this really should be at the top of the nation’s priorities...
(212) is NYC....does he have an Albany number as well?
Yes, but I think it’s a positive thing that they’re “outting” themselves - they don’t have a choice anymore, to implement the far-left agenda requires them having to expose it.
You mean there is some power beyond Governor Spit?
Boy them Dims sure have values don’t they.
> (212) 681-4580
you don’t need a phone number to pray.
I’m kind of mixed on this story. On the one hand, it’s outrageous that he would deny a proclamation for prayer, on the other hand, he’s not pretending to believe in something he disagrees with.
Either way, I’m glad I’m not a citizen of his state.
It’s potentially a good thing, but we need to respond accordingly. If we don’t, it will just make them even bolder. If their craziness doesn’t lead to an EFFECTIVE right-wing backlash, it will lead to tyranny, not a return to rational government.
Only socialists left there, there are pockets of Americans upstate but the number is dwindling.
I have always had an uneasy feeling about Spitzer whenever any news came out about him. He strikes me as authoritarian and a power hungry ego maniac. I hate to say this, but he reminds me of Hugo Chavez from Venezuala. And that is not a good thing.
