I guess as an ally of America they might be forgiven, let them have their silly old prejudices if it means overall support.

I would say just the Russian government. I know quite a few Russian people. None are "animals" as you have chosen to describe them. Even though many who live in Russia may be brainwashed by current anti-Western propaganda in the media, that too can change if "the winds change". I wonder what level of distance from a particular people you need to sufficiently "dehumanize" them in order to view them as simply a faceless enemy?

And on one additional note, most of the above were one way or the other assimilated, cultural Russians, even if their success is claimed by both Russia and the ethicity from which they have descended. I don't know what your lineage may, but I bet you call yourself American first, right?
