The ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee has called for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to resign his leadership post for saying the U.S. has lost the war in Iraq. "This unfortunate statement is both inaccurate and damaging ... [and] can have no effect but to demoralize the brave men and women who are honorably fulfilling their mission in Iraq," said Rep. Duncan Hunter of California in a letter to Mr. Reid. Mr. Hunter, an Army Ranger in the Vietnam War whose son, a Marine, is returning to Iraq for his third combat tour, wrote that his friendship with Mr. Reid is secondary to his obligation to the nation's wartime military forces. "In light of the fact that this statement has both been used by our adversaries and has exhibited a marked lack of leadership to U.S. troops, I call on you to resign your leadership position," said Mr. Hunter, who is running for president. Mr. Hunter added that Mr. Reid's comments "will undoubtedly be used by terrorist leaders to rally their followers -- inevitably leading to increased attacks on U.S. and coalition forces." A spokesman for Mr. Reid declined to respond directly about the letter. "I'm not going to dignify that comment from a presidential wannabe," Reid spokesman Jim Manley said yesterday. Mr. Manley added that if Mr. Hunter is so concerned about winning the war in Iraq he should work with his own party to draft a workable solution instead of "lashing out" at the opposition.

Reid got owned and he knows it.
Also, it’s good to see that Hunter is finally getting some attention from the MSM now.
His spokesman's name is Mr. Manley?
They say too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
Can I make an exception in Hunter’s case? ;)
"I'm not going to get into a name calling match with the administrations chief attack dog "
LOL there’s not a whole lot Reid could say without getting some on himself.
I hope he keeps the pressure turned up! This is what needs to be said & Duncan Hunter is the one saying it. He’s consistently behind the causes I’m concerned about.
Rangers tend to say it like it is.
Republican must stop their 'TURN THE OTHER CHEEK POLITICS' .
We do not need a new tone, we need someone to point out all the flaws in the Socialist agenda.
General Fairy Reid resembles that remark.
AMEN!
I am glad that Hunter told Reid that, but do you really think that a Majority Leader is going to listen to a House Represenative? I mean it would be like my E-5 telling me to get out of the Navy because I am not good.
BTTT
Of course the Reidtard isn’t going to listen, but at least Duncan Hunter said what all the other republicans are too scared to say. This proves that if he gets elected president, he won’t take any crap from the rats.
I love these types of statements from the dems./SAR Reid has no plan and all he did was lash out at the Bush administration and the military but Duncan should not do the same to him!
I guess they can't see how transparent their statements are to most of us, at least the conservatives among us and probably not a few democrats.
I think you missed the point. Democrats scream for republicans to resign even if the republican hasn't done anything. That is one of their best tatics, scream for resignation and keep screaming, make a crime where none exists. Duncan is simply giving the dems some of their own medicine. If it was of no consequence, why is Reid so pissed about what Duncan said? Because he knows it is the truth and he doesn't like being outed for the coward and dumb a** he really is.
Mr. Hunter has no expectations that Reid will resign but now he is on record for calling senile old jerk out. Also, maybe some other republicans will find some ba**s and join Hunter in his accustations.
Yes, we need to make sure he gets more somehow.
I don’t think he went far enough. He should have called him what he is...”a traitor” and then called for investigations and an inditement.
Events on the ground in Iraq will dictate this POS’s fate...
I have no doubt that you are right on that 100 percent.
