Arrested Development.  In an episode, the good-looking mom is hitting on a guy the daughter likes.  The daughter convinces the guy the mom is "Her dad" and that the sad thing is "He thinks he's passing."

At the end of the show there's a quick outtake where the daughter gives the clueless mom a shirt as a present that says "Shemale" across the front of it.  The mom says "Thank you, darling" and the daughter excitedly says " It's a Shemale' ", pronouncing "Shemale" like "Channel" or "sha-mall-EE".
