April 28, 2007 -- Rudy Giuliani's stormy personal life will be a "serious" liability in his campaign for president, Democratic National Committee boss Howard Dean charged yesterday.
"His personal life is a serious problem for him," Dean said in a CNN interview, adding that Giuliani "has a lot of character issues."
Dean's attack comes days after Giuliani claimed that the Democratic presidential hopefuls are surrendering in the war on Iraq and that America would be safer under a GOP president.

Slinging dirt? The man is proud of his personal life. He’s “in your face” with it!
I wouldn't much care except this is in response to a policy comment Giuliani made.
I will of course state the obvious, which is that considering the backgrounds of their frontrunners, the dems should shut their mouths about candidates having trouble in their background. I just hope some journalists are keeping this quote handy for the inevitable "Let's stick to the issues" comment crawls from Dean's big mouth.
Clinton Issues “Character Counts” Proclamation
NEWSMAX.COM - Don’t look now, but according to a proclamation issued by Monica Lewinsky’s impeached ex-boyfriend, October 17 through 23, 1999 will now be known as “National Character Counts Week.”
“The character of our citizens has enriched every aspect of our national life and has set an example of civic responsibility for people around the world,” the presidential character directive begins.
Talk about irony. According to the Starr Reprt, two years ago this very week the Prez was trying to hide Monica from Paula Jones’ lawyers by stashing her away in an out-of-town job with that international oranization that represents people around the world, the UN.
Is this little bit of obstruction of justice an example of the kind of civic responsibility President Clinton has in mind for “Character Counts” week?
We guess that depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is.
The only reason Howard Dean is attacking Giuliani is because Giuliani has a self-painted target on himself as big as a barn. Howard Dean would be abdicating his partisan responsibilities as Chairman of the DNC if he DIDN’T attack Giuliani.
And the fact is, (proving once again that a broken clock like Howie is right twice a day) Giuliani’s personal life IS a train wreck. If (as the Rudyphiles fear) Hillary Clinton is the ‘Rat nominee, here is the 2-stage preview of the DNC agitprop we could expect:
Marriage Score:
Hillary - 1
Giuliani - 3
Ex-spouse Score:
Hillary - 0
Giuliani - 2
See where this is going? Rudy Giuliani is the ONLY so-called ‘Republican’ (read ‘RINO’) candidate that makes Hillary Clinton look more family values oriented in contrast!
Rudy is wrong for the GOP, and wrong for America. If he had been the Mayor of Hackensack New Jersey on 9/11, his presidential aspirations would already have been dismissed, and he would have been laughed off the national stage.
This is what DEAN thinks brought him victory in '06. The Foley gay, dirt sling! So why not try it on Giuliani?
Where DBM/dems are prepared to put on full battle gear and run headlong into the enemy, Repubs will just sit down and shut-up because these pansies are too scared of the DBM to engage the dems ridiculous accuations with return fire .
People, the grassroots are where we have to fight these battles because out reps are USELESS!
No, Giuliani should bow out of the race now before he destroys all remaining credibility of the GOP. The Dems don’t have to lie, spin or embellish the truth. Just play the actual audio and show the video. In his own words and deeds, Giuliani is an “in your face and proud of it” disgrace! No lie!
Marriage
Hillary - 1
This is a self delusion on Mrs. Clinton’s part and EVERYBODY knows it. Nobody can or will take this comparison seriously.
“If he had been the Mayor of Hackensack New Jersey on 9/11, his presidential aspirations would already have been dismissed, and he would have been laughed off the national stage.”
But he wasn’t. He was the mayor of the city that got attacked by terrorists. He has something that no other candidate has and that is leadership abilities. And out of every candidate he is the one most able to lead this country, especially in a time of war.
Now given, on social issues he fits in with the RATS. However, social issues are being handled at the local level right now and I am content with that. I want to know who will protect us from the lunatics.
We are quick to condemn Rudy and understandably. I believe he is the only candidate that won’t recreate the 90’s for us. Now put Thompson on the ticket with him and let Thompson handle the social stuff, we will be ok.
LOL
We should listen to little Howard? LOL His father was big Howard.
PROVING RUDY'S POINT ***... "This is not America's war to win or lose," said Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
"This is not a football game; this is not win or lose," moaned Sen. Joe Biden.
"There's no military solution for this," added Sen. Barack Obama - who nonetheless said he wanted to be sure that the troops had all the night-vision goggles and Humvees they need.
Of course, none of the Democrats suggested a realistic alternative to their preferred course of action: ordering a timetable for bugging out.
It took far-left Rep. Dennis Kucinich to point out the glaring problem in their position: "It's inconsistent to tell the American people that you oppose the war, and yet you continue to fund the war."
Well, yes. If the Democrats truly believe - as New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said - that "this war is a disaster" and "we must end this war," then they should be pushing hard for an immediate withdrawal and an end to all funding.
But they won't - because they know that, whatever their misgivings over the current situation, the American people would handily reject an immediate cut-and-run from Iraq.
And that's pretty much how it went, all night long.
Asked how they would change the U.S. military stance overseas if America were attacked once again by terrorists, the candidates all but proved the point Rudy Giuliani made earlier in the week: that, under a Democratic president, "we would go on defense" in the War on Terror.
"The first thing I would do is be certain I knew who was responsible," said John Edwards.
"I believe we should quickly respond," replied Clinton.
Obama, in a bizarre response, invoked Hurricane Katrina to declare, "The first thing we'd have to do is make sure that we've got an effective emergency response," and warned that "we can't . . . alienate the world community."
Not one even hinted at what Giuliani himself said - that before any such attack occurs, a president should go on the offensive and destroy the terrorists so that they don't even have a chance to strike. ...***
Poor leadership.
Your post is laughable. You think Rudy was just sitting around twiddling his thumbs while he was Mayor of NYC?
Hillary with her straight-faced proposal of a worldwide “roaming” ambassador, Bill Clinton.
Good grief!
No, he was too busy leading the Gay Day parade on 5th ave and sitting in on NARAL board neetings.
If Clinton was our first “black” president, Rudy would be our first “gay” president.
"There's no question we live in a dangerous world and that terrorism is a reality," Mr. Giuliani said. "But I really think people should not allow themselves to get overexcited about this."
Jim,
Love your attacks against Rudy! Keep up the good work!
Rudy is dirt
Google would have thousands of hits on “Rudy first gay president”
If it looks like crap, walks like crap, talks like crap and smells like crap... it’s dean!
