No, I didn’t home school my kids. If I were to do things all over again, I would consider it. I have delivered to families that did homeschool. I have always been impressed with the kids that home schooling turns out. They are so much better behaved and act much more grown up than public school kids. And I believe they are better educated, also.
Home school parents have to meet state standards as far as teaching goes, but they can pick out their own textbooks. In our area, they have fairs for parents to attend and learn about whats available for teaching and get info from other parents. It would take a lot of dedication to home school. One advantage is that the kids arent sitting in a school building all day. It doesnt take that long each day to learn the lessons. Most public schools waste a lot of time.
One thing, local schools and other parents look down on homeschoolers. The schools get federal money for each kid attending school and when a kid doesn’t attend, they don’t get that money for them. Schools aren’t about teaching as much as it’s about power and money.
You have to know that the government(liberals) don’t like home schoolers as it gives too much power to the family. Power that liberals want for themselves. They think they are better able to raise our children than we are.
Hope this helps somewhat. Just my opinion. Others may have different ideas and could correct me if I erred in anyway.
Thanks for the info. If I had kids then I would want them homeschooled. I agree about school wasting time too. I loved learning and doing my homework but 2 hours a day would have been sufficient. I hated all of the blah blah blah. I’m a get-to-the-point type of person.
I mixed up a huge batch of zucchini bread batter and just took 4 loaves out of the oven. Something’s not right so I need to see if I can save the remaining 12 or so dozen loaves. I don’t know if that’s going to be possible though. :(
Have a good night!
