This is woman who, although she has prescriptions for this stuff, is playing pharmaceutical salad.
Paxil and amitriptyline are both antidepressants. Paxil is an SSRI, amitriptyline (Elavil) is a more classic tricyclic. They should never be taken concurrently.
Methadone is given to help relieve heroin addiction, she we know what she has been “on” before.
Book her, Danno, Doper 1.
Kudos to you...I was going to say the same thing....why would any Doc prescribe an SSRI and a Tricyclic AD at the same time....Tricyclic’s are pretty passe’ unless nothing else works due to their higher frequency of side effects though Paxil is so short acting it can have devastating discontinuation syndrome.....a fancy name for withdrawal that is not neurosynaptic prevalent.....either way, Methadone with Ambien would be deadly to CNS activity as well.....no wonder she was zonked out....
