Hi.
Howdy, happy open line Friday
Here’s the email I just sent out far and wide:
Al-Qaeda Iraqi group thanks Reid ! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1824519/posts
This is from my friend Gloria last evening: “Just got off the phone -—very polite—told him I was “saddened”—by Senator Nelson’s vote today— Also said I left New York 20 yrs ago to escape Senator Schumer—was disgusted that he’s in control of EVERYTHING!——Now -—they are listening very carefully and also asked for my Zip Code—— Please pass this “far and wide”——anyone and everyone!! For those living in Florida, Senator Nelson’s Orlando Phone: #888-671-4091
For those not living in florida, you may contact your own Democrat congressman (if you have one) at the toll-free link below. The Democrats cannot turn back - they and their cheer-leaders in the drive-by media (98+% of whom are admitted Democrats) are heavily invested in defeat. They cannot allow America to win the war in Iraq or they lose in up-coming elections.
Those voting “Yea”, were in effect voting not to fund the troops because they knew Bush would veto the bill with the “conditions” they attached to it, ie: they attached their pet pork projects to the bill along with a date certain to bring the troops home. The whole thing was nothing but a dog-and-pony-show waste of time because they know in advance that they don’t have enough votes to overturn the President’s veto.
Senate votes to require Iraq withdrawals

WASHINGTON - A defiant Democratic-controlled Senate passed legislation Thursday that would require the start of troop withdrawals from Iraq by Oct. 1, propelling Congress toward a historic veto showdown with President Bush on the war.
The 51-46 vote was largely along party lines, and like House passage of the same bill a day earlier, fell far short of the two-thirds margin needed to overturn the president’s threatened veto. Neverthe less, the legislation is the first binding challenge on the war that Democrats have managed to send to Bush since they reclaimed control of both houses of Congress in January.

Any American who let’s them get away with this without making every effort to stop them, has my everlasting contempt.
Watch Video here: Joe Lieberman BLASTS Democrat’s Surrender Bill!! (Video) http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2007/04/joe-lieberman-blasts-democrats.html
David Broder: “...consider the mental gyrations performed by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., as he rationalized the recent comment from his majority leader, Harry Reid, the leading light of Searchlight, Nev., that the war in Iraq “is lost.”
On “Fox News Sunday,” Schumer offered this clarification of Reid’s off-the-cuff comment. “What Harry Reid is saying is this war is lost — in other words, a war where we mainly spend our time policing a civil war between Shiites and Sunnis. We are not going to solve that problem... . The war is not lost. And Harry Reid believes this — we Democrats believe it... . So the bottom line is if the war continues on this path, if we continue to try to police and settle a civil war that’s been going on for hundreds of years in Iraq, we can’t win. But on the other hand, if we change the mission and have that mission focus on the more narrow goal of counterterrorism, we sure can win.”
Everyone got that clear? This war is lost. But the war can be won. Not since Bill Clinton famously pondered the meaning of the word “is” has a Democratic leader so confused things as Reid managed to do with his inept discussion of the alternatives in Iraq. ... Reid’s verbal wanderings on the war in Iraq are consequential — not just for his party and the Senate but for the more important question of what happens to U.S. policy in that violent country and to the men and women whose lives are at stake. - Washington Post 4/26/2007

Hi there.
BOR is driving me crazy on Iraq. He keeps saying he was wrong and the left was right. He also said Iraq was the wrong battle field. Drives me up a wall.
Bill O’Reilly is right on target.
Is Rush on vacation again?
Two-timer! ;-)
Yeah, I have heard his rantings. P’s me off too.
Who me? Hi darling.
I'll be ducking in and out today--still reading through the massive thread in which a number of FReepers got themselves banned. There's some enormously valuable info in it on the fundamental philosophy of conservatism.

Hey, have you seen this? Its hilarious! The other “woman” running for pres!
Oh dear, Harley Lady, you've really been getting smacked by the weather this year!
Big of Big & Rich bought Rush a drink. Haha.
How many got banned? Do you have a link?
Scary and interesting thread.
I think Iran was the right target, not Iraq.
Poor GWB, off by one letter.
Rush is wrong, there is ONE important soundbite. It was the obvious set up softball where Hillary was asked specifically about Guiliani and 9/11
