Oh please give me a break! Do you know what is involved in Halal Food? When the cow is slaughtered someone has to say a muslim prayer when cutting it in order to become Halal meat. This should not happen in America, this is not a muslim country, period.

Unless there's more to it than was quoted, the bill was to ensure that food marketed as "Halal" was actually "Halal". It doesn't force anyone to make "Halal" meats and other products, it just says that anyone who choses to market their products as such actually has to do what they're claiming.

Simple anti-fraud, as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn’t the “truth in advertising” take care of this?

We already have provisions to take care of this problem, unless I have just completely missed the point.

It sounds like they’re just trying to get even more special treatment.
