You're right about the first wave. People will probably cave in, but then the retaliations will start. Hot tip about an armory, the jack booted goon squad goes to investigate and it turns out that the house is full of ANFO - bang. Or the house turns out to be an anti-gun newspaper editor, but someone puts radio control bang devices around it so that the Swat team thinks it's under fire. Or there is an HMG in the back of a pickup (called a technical in Africa I believe) waiting for the SWAT van to arrive and riddles it before they can deploy and then drives off. And these are just some of the things that occur to me. I'm sure there are plenty of inventive minds out there.
Danny Boy has just laid out that it is perfectly legitimate and practical to go after such “law breakers.”
“Ive heard more credible utopian schemes from drunks in bars.”
Indeed. Committed mental patients frame more realistic fantasy worlds than this guy.
It always starts out small. The fees would then be increased every year to reduce the number of guns and the number of owners
I remain true to my views, but those views are not widely shared. To be precise I've lost faith in the MAJORITY of America. There is still a minority (and not a protected minority) that will soldier on, but the new spirit of America seems more to be the Katrina "victim" chanting "When's someone gonna help us" The new America is the hand out for the welfare payment. It is pompous police chiefs saying that there are too many guns in America. (well disarm your cops first and when I see how that works I will considering reducing my supply)
Look at this forum. How many rabid Guiliani supporters are there even on a supposedly conservative forum? The list is endless, and I just got some bad news about a family member, so I don't feel like continuing, but you get the picture.
And I WOULD fight back, with deadly force.
It would precipitate a civil war. Make no mistake about it.
Suburban and rural?
Hey, jagoff, the guns you're looking for are in the urban areas -- the inner city, the public housing projects, gang headquarters, crack houses.
Start there. Let me know how that works out for you.
If this “diplomat” has any balls, he can come and try to take my stock of guns and rifles first.
If this was seriously enacted, there would be another Revolution, much bloodier than the first two!!(Rev War and War of Northern Aggression)
I'm in agreement with you on this; however, I'd rather make them die for their cause rather than my dying for mine.
What is a JBT?
I sent him the following email:
RESPECTFUL REPLY TO YOUR ARTICLE ABOUT CONFISCATING US FIREARMS
They would need to kill me.
And I WOULD fight back, with deadly force.

IF he was a diplomat no wonder the world hates us!
RDH Ping
Short for “Jack Booted Thug” term used first by NRA spoksperson (who then backed down) to describe the ATF and FBI in Waco.
Jack-booted thug.
PING!
A mega-hurler!
If the casualty rate is high enough for the “special” police they will lose all stomach for “sweeps” and find vital paperwork back at the station house to do 24/7. They will hand the Danster a piece and tell him to do his own "sweeps".
Question is: if it came to this(God forbid), are gun owners willing to die in the quantities necessary?
Right now this article is the insane ravings of a moonbat, which the Blade printed because otherwise there would have been a blank space in their newspaper. The blank space would have been a better choice.
What a nutcase!
This is the same kind of thinking that paints ALL college kids as a bunch of brain-dead drunks who would begin shooting up the campus the minute they could carry-concealed.
I'd have to drink a case of beer before I could write something as double-digit IQ as this article.
