No matter which distro I use I’ve never been able to get Ubuntu to work on my machine, sigh.

I couldn't get 6.10 to install on my old, old machine and I'm a fairly savvy Linux guy. I ended up installing 6.06 (which installed fine) and then doing an in-place upgrade to 6.10.

Now that I've used it for a little bit, I have to say that it takes some getting used to. No root login, sudo for everything, is very different from the other distros I've worked with.
