I just watched that video. I saw it live. I can not believe I made it thru twice. Here is my assessment:
Gravel said something like:
We lost the day we invaded Iraq.
I am calling BS. That was the day we won. We have not shot an Iraqi tank, plane, or uniformed Soldier since Bush announced that major combat operations are over. We will find peace and those who have given their life will not die in vain, if we can help Iraq secure itself.
Gravel said that Bush said we would not leave Iraq until he left office.
Bush is probably making a true statement. We still have Troops in Bosnia and I don’t hear the Demorats talking about a time line there.
Gravel asked who is keeping the war going and who is not? He was implying that Bush is keeping the war going.
I have to call BS on this because Bush is not keeping the war going. Bad people in Iraq are keeping the war going. If things were more secure in Iraq, we would start pulling some of our Troops out.
Gravel said he would not break a treaty that we signed that said no preemptive nukes to start wars. He said that he would not use Nukes.
Well, he is not my kind of President. If I was President and I had to use nukes, I would make sure that I was already at war with them in some manner and then I would nuke our slimy little enemy.
Gravel said that the top tear Demoratic candidates worry him.
No BS here. I concur.
He said he would get out of Iraq. What’s the problem with pulling out of Iraq?
I am calling BS again: I believe that we would see Iraq fall into the hands of extremist and then they would be sitting on one of the worlds largest supply of oil. Extremist would like to blow up Saudi oil fields to bring the West to their knees. What do you think extremist would do with Iraqi oil fields?
Gravel said that all the deaths of Vietnam were in vain. They wouldn’t have been if the people didn’t listen to our media and our politicians during the Vietnam War. Now, are we going to make this same mistake again? Are we going to let those who have died for Iraqi freedom die in vain? I am not. I am voting for those who will support my Troops 100%. For those who are calling for the politicians to sit down and shut up and let our Generals adapt, improvise, and over come any all situation in Iraq. And my Generals would have permission to throw every commie media bastard out of Iraq.
Gravel said we have no important enemy.
I think we do. Commie bastards like the entire Demoratic leadership is a National Security threat of the highest order. Maqtada Al Sadr pulled six of his political leaders out of the Iraqi Government, because Maliki would not set a time line for US withdraw. The Commie Demorats are calling for the same thing. The Demoratic Senate Majority leader Scary Reid, is saying we lost the war before all of our Troops have even been deployed in the surge; and there are reports that the surge is already helping and working in some areas. Liberals are the major enemy to God and prayer in public view, guns in law abiding citizens hands, and the sanctity of marriage and our culture.
Gravel said we have to treat the rest of the world as equals. I do as a human being, but I don’t have to treat my enemy as an equal.
Gravel said the Military Industrial Complex controls our culture and way of life (basically).
If that is what he believes, fine. I see my land as a Capitalist nation. I would fight for Capitalism before I would fight for a commie traitor. I would fight for the Capitalist (who has created more millionaires and less deaths then the commies have) before I would fight to bring Socialism and/or Communism to my country.
I read a book in college called ‘Pentagon Capitalism’ and if I remember right, it was written by Semour Melman. I also read another book called ‘And not a Shot was fired’ which was written by a Chec defector who said the Commies would take over five parts of our system: higher education, hollywood, judges on the bench, a political party (create one if necessary), and our media. Well, Melmans book stated the same thing about the Pentagon. Melman is a liberal. And I lean towards the commies fighting a cold war and taking us over without a shot being fired. Why do the commies want to remove prayer from school and God from public view? I am an American. I pray to my God and we take care of my problems. They want to make it so I pray for the Government to take care of me from the cradle to the grave. Down with Socialism and down with Demorats!
Gravel says that terrorism can not be fought and we have to change our policy.
I am calling BS (imagine that). Gravel won the vote of the terrorist by making that statement. I’ll bet Bin Laden puts a Gravel bumper sticker on the ass of his donkey.
Then he said something about the US violating the non proliferation treaty by building more nukes.
Aaaaand?
I have not heard that we have been building nukes. We have been building anti nukes systems, but I have not heard that we are building nukes. That's my assessment. I had to fire back on this. I got ammo too.

Probably what is happening is Bush will keep things in place until January 2009, after the election. It will then be the new president to decide to carry forward, change strategy, or from a dem president point of view, de-mobilize.
That way Bush can always say, he tried,
A new repub pres. can say, time to change,
A new dem pres. can say, time to pull-out.
Whether the dem president would look the worse or not, depends on the mental state of america. When Nixon started doing it after LBJ, had different feelings on it.
I think any human, rational, person would agree with you.

Senator Gravitas: Grandstanding for the stage. Swept up in the emotion.
My second choice for an explanation in light of starting to question if this is really a dream, is that someone spiked the Senator’s punch. With crystal meth.
Something I noticed the most that was when one is fighting a dirty war, one has to respond in kind. Ya know,,,, like put perrermint oil on their toilet paper. Senator Gravitas is one of the biggest nukes in the arsenal. He was like a replay of all the Democratic sound bytes, all strung together based on wordplay association. One sentence led to another, as long as context and reality are thrown out the window.
He echoed back at the Dem Prez hopefuls what they and the MSM have been broadcasting out as the ‘Democratic mindset’.
He used every tactic they use;
Dominate the conversation by running on.
Find a way to twist every subject back to ‘your’ obsession.
Never really, truly, ever, answer the question that was asked, in any direct, or brief manner.
(Except when Chris Matthews asks you where ya’ been!)
The rest of the ‘candidates’ could only stand mostly silent , smugly thinking, WHAT A NUTCASE!
What they don’t get is that this is what we think when we watch them.
I concur, but I am under the belief they don't care what I think. I really don't care what they think, but I do like to keep tabs on my enemy.
And one more thing: I don't want no grandstanding for a Party during war. I want resolve. Our enemy has more resolve then the Demoratic Party and our Lame Stream Media.
I hope you don't mind if I but in on this now.
Here is the way I see it:
The media tells me that I need a liberal to beat a liberal. I don't believe it.
Remember Coward Dean? He was supposed to be the next Demoratic Presidential nominee. The media hasn't picked a Demoratic front runner in years.
Look, we need to vote our with our minds and heart. As a Conservative, I am not runner scared from all that I hold dear (my God, my gun, and the unborn baby) because the media tells me I should.
If the Republican Party does not represent God in public view, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to life then who will? Nancy Peloser and Scary Reid? We need a person who will Veto and counter the act of the majority of Demorats in Congress.
All Republican Candidates will be stronger then any commie demorat in the race. We should be making sure that we offer people a chioce between Constitutional protectionism, or we allow the rats to run our Social rights in the ground.
We do not need a liberal to beat a liberal. I don't believe everything I read in the paper.
Gravel is just expressing what HilaryCare and the rest wish they could say. Her “prudent” retaliation answer was complete clintonspeak. Only mouthed to eliminate the weak on defense charges. She would retatliate if her poll numbers fell.

I think the war is pretty much lost already though re people being re-conditioned to expect the state to solve all problems. Just today a guy at the office was talking about how it’s good that kids straight out of highschool can’t go pro and I said, why? They should be able to do whatever they want legally after their 18th birthday. We decide they aren’t ready? I thought parents and siblings were supposed to help. What, you say they are afflicted with the same government dependency syndrome? Well there you go.
