... but rarely do you see the court come down 9-nothing. Unless it was a ploy by the Clinton administration. The man who coined the phrase "depends on the meaning of the word 'is'" was regularly shot down 9 to nothing.

The statutory media exemption, RCW 42.17.020(15)(b)(iv), excludes from the definition of "contribution" political advocacy for or against a political campaign by the hosts of a regularly scheduled talk show, broadcast by a radio station that is not controlled by a candidate or political committee. The law could not be clearer.
All the bureaucrats should be held personally liable for being ignorant of the law, specially their city or staff attorneys. Any monetary awards should come out of their own paychecks.
Otherwise, there is no deterrent to throwing taxpayer money at an illegal prosecution or intimidation.

"A unanimous Washington state supreme court ruling, issued this morning, reversed a lower court ruling that held radio commentary by Seattle's KVI-570's Kirby Wilbur and John Carlson made "in-kind" contributions when they promoted an anti-gas tax voter initiative on their shows in 2005."Yeah! I am glad they are off the hook but I worked my butt off getting signatures on the petition for the gas tax initiative to be on the ballot. Those a-hole lawyers put the scare into Kirby and John so they wouldn't talk about it when it was time to vote on it so it went down in defeat.

Yes, the ACLU was on the right side, for a change. Another case they are on the right side of is ACLU v. Gonzales, ED Penn, 3/2007, finding COPA unconstitutional. But in doing so, the ACLU said Internet filters are about 95% effective and no longer block out breast cancer. You see the ALA (American Library Association) claims filters do not work and block breast cancer. It is fun to use this ACLU decision to expose the ALA's propaganda.

BTTT I am here late but have been following everything. Congrats Kirby & John and a big fat raspberry to the other hosts (even “conservative” ones) who DIDN’T BACK THEM UP. Thank heaven that in this instance the members of the bench actually read the Constitution! BTW, John McCain, you can go eat my socks!
