WASHINGTON (April 26) - Democratic presidential candidates on Wednesday rebuked Republican rival Rudy Giuliani for suggesting that the United States could face another major terrorist attack if a Democrat is elected in 2008. The former New York mayor did not back down.
Illinois Sen. Barack Obama said Giuliani, who was in office on Sept. 11, 2001, should not be making the terrorist threat into "the punchline of another political attack."
"Rudy Giuliani today has taken the politics of fear to a new low and I believe Americans are ready to reject those kind of politics," Obama said in a statement.
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards said Giuliani knows better than to suggest there is a "superior Republican way to fight terrorism ." Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said protecting the country from terrorism "shouldn't be a political football."

Must’ve missed Obama, Edwards and Clinton repudiating Harry Reid.
no way I am going to vote for Rudy in a primary, but I LOVE how he has rattled their cages on this. I just hope he holds his ground, or advances. Just defending what he said isn’t enough. He needs to needle them a little more.
Next time some Dem whines that Republicans call them “unpatriotic”, I hope Junk Yard Rudy will pounce on ‘em...DEMAND that they name ONE time Bush, Cheney, or any other person said it. (Then, when there’s no answer, demand they stop saying it...while chiding the media for not asking the question in the first place!).
Here kitty, kitty, kitty....
I applaud your post.
You praise Rudy’s comments - then say you won’t vote for him.
There is nothing wrong with that at all.
That’s good stuff.
100% in agreement - no make that 200% in agreement.
Osama and Hitlery and Edturds are about to get their clocks cleaned.
“This is what I really like about Rudy. He’s gutsy and pugnacious. By telling it like it is he’s really hit a sore nerve. However, for those of you who’ll call me a Rudybot, I’m about to post some really good columns by Fred Thompson and Mit Romney. I’m still on the fence.”
I for one am not a Rudybot or anything Rudy, but I have posted many times that the one that starts saying what Rudy is now saying and takes the fight to the Democrats instaead of the New Tone BS, will stir the base and get the nomination.
Rudy has opened the door, Hunter has now meekly joined in, HOPEFULLY will will start to get a full chourus going before long.
But I won’t hold my breath, most repbs are spineless jellyfish with no balls, and most here know that to be true.
It i stimne to get mad, junk yard dog mad and stand up and fight these Socialist bastards.
Here’s hoping he has the guts to NOT apologize, clarify, revise, or retract his comments.
Another Republican presidential candidate, Arizona Sen. John McCain , wouldn't say whether he agreed with Giuliani's suggestion. "I can't judge whether somebody else would cause an attack on America," McCain told reporters aboard his campaign bus in New Hampshire.
Looks like McCain reamins the same back stabber he was when he stooged for Kerry agaisnt the Swiftvets. Romney, OTOH, agreed with Rudy.
So whats left? Rudy`s admin did a good job reducing crime rates. Great. Just not enough to be considered presidential material.
No thanks Rudy Tooty.
Meekly? Hunter was ripping anti-war Democrats long before Rudy started.
no reason to defend or apologize...true statements.
Yesterday Rush commented favorably on what Rudy said:
