If the field stays as it is now, Rush will come to support Rudy. I believe that. Rush is a pragmatist and he understands what’s at stake here. He’s not going to reject Rudy as a cheap device to pump himself or his show up. I have to believe that throwing out red meat to the mobs is not as important to him as saving the country from 8 more years of Clinton.
You might be right - I think Rush will hold off until the end of the year - maybe even early 08’ before he makes any endorsement.
I’ve been wondering about Rush’s stand on Rudy (I have to work and can’t listen like I used to).
It’s got to be a dilemma for him, given what’s been going on.
Does anyone know—did he take a position on a candidate in 2000 before the nominee was selected?
But the key as I understand Rush is that he wants someone who will FIGHT the Democrats---if not on every issue, then on SOME issues---and decisively defeat them. If it's the WoT, fine. I think that view is what most people I talk to want. Despite the abortion obsesssion here, most people, and certainly most Republicans I talk to, are more concerned with the WoT and making sure the Dems don't lose this war.
Don’t bet the family farm, or the triplex in NYC : )
