Rudy Turns Up the Heat
Rush Limbaugh's Web Site ^ | 4-26-2007 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 04/26/2007 5:12:05 AM PDT by Jake The Goose

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: All right, Rudy Giuliani. Let's go to the audio sound bites here. Rudy is turning up the heat, getting into some partisanship here, which is good, because there's a huge difference between Republicans and Democrats on the war. So say it! And Rudy did. He said, "We have to stay on offense. The Democrats want to put us back on defense." Yesterday in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the Rockingham County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a portion of Rudy's remarks.

the entire transcript from Rush's show

RUSH: Rudy Giuliani, setting himself apart from the field, at least with that appearance. Again, that was in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the Rockingham County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner. END TRANSCRIPT

You said that whoever calls for Reid to resign should be the nominee. Hunter has.

I didn’t know you meant anyone but Hunter.

I love Rush. He can endorse Rudy all he wants it still won’t change my mind about not voting for Rudy.

I actually hope that Rush does not endorse anyone during the primaries. I have no problem with him praising Rudy for what he said the other day, heck I wish the President would talk like that more often. It still doesn’t change the fact that Rudy is not a conservative and Rush is forever telling us he is a conservative not a republican.

I also hope Rush will NOT endorse anyone.

I don’t think he will - not in the primaries.

He has more room to comment on the process if he stays on the sidelines.

He really has to be careful - his audience is sooo large.

No, I meant any of the LEADING candidates who have the public's ear. Sure, I can call for Harry's resignation. Big deal. That won't get me five percent in the polls. Ron Paul can call for the abolition of the Pentagon or the gold standard. Who cares?

There is a certain level of public profile that is necessary for such a call to have an impact.

In 2000 Rush made it very clear that he preferred George W. Bush to John McCain. IIRC the primary underlying reason was that he considered McCain to be somewhat off his rocker and not really tempermentally suited for the Presidency.

I happened to agree with that analysis then and now. Much as I distrust and dislike McCain (and I wrote a rant threat right after the 2006 election opposing him) I would have to support him or any other Republican against the ‘rats for the simple reason that the ‘rats are surrender monkeys.

We can’t afford a surrender monkey in the Oval Office.

I did not remember that - you are correct about Rush and GW.

Rush cannot stand McCain - I know that for a fact.

That said - if McCain is the man -

Oh man - if McCain is the man........

I pull his lever.

I’m gonna go throw up now.

You’ll throw up a lot more if we have a weak sister in the Oval Office. Another Carter or Bill Clinton with their pusillanimous national security policies will encourage attacks against us here and we’ll lose a lot more Americans to the next attack than we lost on 9-11.

So if McCain wins the nomination, I vote for him even if he’s a few onions short of a cheesesteak.

And as far as the anti-Rudy attack on this thread — that’s missing the point. Rush’s comments are not an endoresement of Rudy at all, but a STRONG endorsement of his attack on the ‘rats surrender monkey policies. With Rush saying that Rudy has set himself apart from the other candidates with his comments yesterday, what he’s really saying IMHO is that ALL of the Republican candidates need to be extremely aggressive in fighting the surrender monkey ‘rats.

Full credit BTW to Duncan Hunter for calling for Reid’s resignation. Reid is worse than Marshal Petain.

Yes sir - I think you are 100% correct in that statement.

If Bill or Hillary Clinton had decided to say the same thing, would you praise them, too?

Who CARES what this RINO says? What matters is his radical liberal record and his lack of character that renders his words and promises meaningless.

Oh my goodness - Ol’ Sparky - you might be even older than I can imagine.

Hang in there brother.

Clearly since the entire party thinks like you - Rudy is no threat for the nomination.

Oh wait - Rudy’s leading in the polls - how can that be?

I think I should point out the various thread thats were posting on FreeRepublic on this speech.

Nearly the first 50 posts were all about “look at him scaring people” and “yet again trying to rely on 911 for this liberal” and pictures of him in drag.

Long story short... the “true” conservatives sound EXACTLY like the democrats and the NYT, while I, who was sounding like Rush (the day before Rush sounded like it) was called a liberal and even was called on to be zotted and banned.

What has FR become?

The problem is, is that the WOT is all Rudy has. How long can you use it? There are other issues, you know, and besides all of the Republican candidates are just as tough, or even more so, on terrorism than Rudy is.

Rudy is the Republican John Kerry. He's going to milk his 9/11 "service" to the bone while being vague on the other issues. Expect Democrats to even start pointing out Rudy's support of partial-birth abortion to appeal to values voters. If you think JimRob or other FReepers are hard on Rudy, wait until the Democrats get ahold of him. But they've been instructed to hold their fire on Rudy until the race really gets underway.

FYI: Jim has NOT been zotting pro-rudy people... but even if he does there are quite a few ‘upstarts’ boards eager out there to pick up the disaffected.

Good luck on next funding drive once you start booting people for disagreeing with your selfish attitudes.

From what I've seen Jim has zotted quite a few RudyBoosters. If others want to step in and pick up the slack promoting Rudy, I'm sure Jim will oblige them too.

Some people have left FR on their own accord, others became part of Jim`s spring house cleaning. Truth be told, not many Freepers have been banned recently. The more outrageous malcontents are gone and thats good.

Free Republic has an agenda, a set of conservative objectives. Right now, taking down Rudy the liberal is goal #1! You're agenda seems on a different course then one Jim has set for FR. Maybe its time you thought of relocating.
