Perhaps the people that voted Yes understand market economics.

Is someone paying her $40M per year? The last I saw, she was turning down $10M per year

because she was only willing to sign for one year and the network wanted three for "some stability." I thought this was an entirely hypothetical question - "If you were a TV exec, would hiring Rosie for $40M/yr be profitable and a good business strategy?"

It sound slike based completely on free market principles, she's worth about $10M/yr. Of course, there are some things not worth doing no matter how profitable they may be, and hiring her makes the list. (And I would be surprised if the $10M/yr ended up being a good investment anyway.)

If ABC is willing to pay her 10 mil a year, they must know that CBS, NBC or Fox is willing to pay Rosie $10,000,001 a year.

Therefore, she is worth what ABC or another network will pay.

I think that's the PUBLIC spin. What really happened in the back room is being discussed on this thread:
Rosie Did Not Jump - She Was Pushed

FReeper MindBender26 works in the TV world and has a LOT of connections. His story pretty much corroborates what Donald Trump was alluding to in his discussion on the O'Reilly Factor tonight.
