False. There was a big shift toward Kerry (and Edwards) in the last week before the Iowa caucus, which Kerry won, and when asked, Democrat voters said when it came down to it, they were looking for electability.
THEN Dean started screaming.
They have to be crapping their thongs at the prospect of Hillary! and B. Hussein as their frontrunners.
I can scarcely imagine more unelectable candidates for President of the United States.
Okay. Kucinich, maybe.
I’ve talked to more Dems than I like to count, about what sank Dean, and I’m convinced it all boils down to one simple word: lightweight. Libs loved him but they sensed he would do about as well as Dukakis had done. Worse for him, the Republican was a sitting president.
Kerry didn’t set hearts afire, but they thought he had gravitas (this was in his pre-bluebunny days) and better credentials to sway the undecided.
Kerry was also considered too experienced to say or do anything ridiculous. (!)
Even the moonbats had a sense that Dean was not ready for the big leagues.
