I think you're right. This is more contract work and I think it will be hard to leave it in a few months. Which is when he would have to get into the race. Everybody is picking up the money and there won't be enough for a serious campaign.
Too bad. We are stuck with a bunch of dead wood.
Either he has decided against it or he has decided that the competition isn't all that fierce and that he has time.
With all of the comparisons to Ronald Reagan being thrown about, regards Thompson, by others -- and by the other candidates about themselves -- to me this is an attempt to emulate Reagan. That is... if Thompson is merely biding his time before running.
I think it's Fred's non-conventional way of campaigning. That's his history and that's when he's at his best.
Just like Reagan was less likely to run when he was doing radio commentary in 1975.
I really believe if Fred was not seriously considering jumping into the race he would of come out and said so by now.
