I liked him when he filled in for Paul Harvey.
This is a smart political move, IMO.
Well this will definitely get him some airtime and will help him with people who don’t know who he is and with people who may have forgotten what he was like as a Senator. After all its been a long time. Its a different world now alot of the people who may have voted for him in the 1990’s may have gone on and there are plenty of new faces in their place who have never heard of him.
A smart professional move, at least. Paul Harvey is almost 90, and being his regular sub is pretty much like being Jay Leno in the late '80s. From the fact that Thompson is being groomed to replace him, I assume Paul Harvey Jr., his dad's long-time producer and writer and a concert pianist in his own right, doesn't want the gig.
