Former senator, commentator and actor Fred Thompson will provide regular opinion and analysis on ABCRadio.com. The network says the Fred Thompson Report will discuss issues and events that affect all Americans. Audio versions of many of the commentaries will also be made available on ABCRadio.com.
The Internet allows as never before a real dialogue among the American people. There has never been a more important time in recent history to be informed as a nation, and my hope is that my daily commentary will contribute to that discussion, said Thompson. Im looking forward to using the medium to its fullest.
There is a clear demand to hear from Senator Thompson. Its obvious that listeners, if not America, seek his leadership on issues that matter. Radio has already provided an excellent platform to inform and educate listeners seeking his opinionthe Fred Thompson Report is another extension to deliver his respected opinion, said John McConnell, SVP/Programming, ABC Radio Networks.
Thompson, a former Republican Senator from Tennessee is well known for his current television role on NBCs Law & Order. For the past year, Thompson has been working with ABC News Radio as a Special Program Host and Senior Analyst, hosting special reports and doing vacation fill-in for Paul Harvey.
Oops. Wrong article. I beat you to ANOTHER one.
*Blush*
LOL:)
Not running? pppfffttt..
I had a discussion upthread about this earlier. He’s not behaving like someone who’s decided not to run. He’s not discouraged anyone- and there are some very public figures who are openly supporting him.
It’s just timing now. I’m still looking at the Lincoln Club dinner on 5 May in California. But I’m just guessing.
There is some interesting history associated with that group that’s worth reading:)
“From the 1966 election of Ronald Reagan as governor to the political resurrection of Richard Nixon (once a member himself) all the way through to the recall of Gray Davis, the Lincoln Club has been a leader in the Republican partys most important local, state and national causes.”
Doesn’t look like he is running if he is doing this..
What time?
The front-loaded primaries simply means that the blue states are panicking and want to prevent the more conservative challengers from having an impact in the race. It’ll have little or no bearing on Thompson as he already has name-recognition and strong grassroots support.
LOL. You guys are really defecating in your pants, with all these hand-wringing, "he won't run" posts trying to discourage his supporters.
Yeah, I probably would. I’m like a little kid easily distracted by the next flashy toy though in my case it can be a statistical table or a deep thought.
Or at a minimum interesting news about an interesting man.
Their idea seems to be support us or we will kick you in the head.
If you believe Fred Thompson would speak of Giuliani as you do your delusions know no end. Extremist whacko freaks are not asked to give a key speech at the GOP convention in support of an incumbent President. Nor do they deliver one which knocks it out of the park in drawing the distinction between a party which believes in National Defense and one which supinely surrenders.
Such jobs and such performances are given by one squarely in the mainstream of political parties. But your real fight is EXACTLY with that mainstream.
Thank you for that. That is very encouraging, indeed.
It sounds as if I remember wrong about Mr. Wolf and stand corrected. AND I absolutely agree with him! :^)
Now...Run, Fred, RUN!
Anyone who's been following this thing for a month or so couldn't come to another conclusion if they tried.
“The front-loaded primaries simply means that the blue states are panicking and want to prevent the more conservative challengers from having an impact in the race.” Actually it appears that the parties are determined to neutralize the role of the small states like Iowa and NH. States are likely listening to the desires of the Political parties and those have several motives.
Thompson is not immune to the pressures this change creates and his numbers do not support that conclusion. They are at this point only “good” not “great” and this conclusion does not come from my not liking the guy ‘cause I do.
This seems like another obstacle to a quick announcement.
Well the wisdom is that he needs to announce, so he can start to raise money, so he can put his political views to the electorate
Instead he has taken contract (which he can quit at any time) to put his political views ....
I think he’s a lefty, but maybe not a moonbat.
IOW, he voted for Bubba, he might be smart enough to avoid the Hildebeast. LOL
I hope you are right but I still think it is critical to be putting campaign staff together and that means big money.
He does not come across as a moonbat.
Yep. He’s following the Governor Reagan 1977-1980 time-frame template allright.
