Yawn. Another thread hijacked by the Rudy hit squad. Yawn. Oh please, post the usual Rudy in drag picture too. The Republican candidate least served by the Supreme Court decision, though he welcomed it, is Giuliani. Until lately, Rudy has been 100 percent pro-choice on abortion, even opposing the ban on partial birth.
While he is committed now to appointing Justices like Scalia, he will be hard pressed on whether he wishes to see Roe overturned and whether he would use tax dollars to fund abortion.
Moreover, as a pro-choice Catholic, Rudy faces possible censure by the hierarchy of his church, as did John Kerry. And this time, the indulgent Cardinal McCarrick is gone from Washington, and Cardinal Egan may be gone from New York by November 2008.
Hijacked? the above, in bold, is from the article. The article mentions Rudy, therefore any mention of Rudy, good or bad, is not "hijacking" the article. Sorry if your hero comes off in a bad light. Perhaps he should consider actually becoming a conservative, but of course hell would freeze over first.

the picture in post #17 disgusts me.
my daughter just turned 21 today. she is 28 weeks along, has been given steroid shots to help the baby's lungs prepare,is on complete bedrest. if ANYONE has reason to abort, it would her...her medical issues mean an immediate c-section when the labor starts. they will do a tubal, and this will be her only child because of her medical issues. to make sure the baby is safe and as normal as can be, she has not taken medications for her medical conditions (against Dr's wishes) during the pregnancy.
people who give the argument for the health of the mother make me ill. we are living the issue every day. the joy will be my grandson's arrival!! i never dreamt i would be living this part of the pro-life movement

Ah yes, ‘never would have believed it’. Nor would I have believed when I became so pro-life that my stepdaughter would come home from college pregnant and would not tell anyone whom fathered the child, then be tasked with demanding she not abort that little one, and be blessed so immeasurably by the little guy being born and brought home to my home. What a blessing to be true to your beliefs! What a blessing that little step grandson is. I love him so much and thank God for him daily! The only sadness remains that his father's parents are not getting to share the wonder of this beautiful little gift from God because his mother will not relent whom is the father. Believe me when I tell you that the word 'Papa' coming from that little darling grabs a man's heart, completely. Sadly, he has no one to call Daddy.

i understand the "sadly he has no one to call daddy" part of it, as well. while we know who the daddy is, he is not the type of male you would want around...my daughter made the right decision, though it was very hard, to not pursue child support, and not place his name on the birth certificate. so, though there is no 'daddy' in your grandson's life, he has a great role model in his grandpa!! perhaps that is for the best. he only knows the GOOD role model, and doesn't struggle with the bad one. for my grandson, i have yet to see his grandpa and great-grandparents love him unconditionally, as you do!! (perhaps when he is born their attitudes will change.) a lot of people in this world cannot love like that.
i am proud of you for being the right kind of man! i am proud of you for knowing how to love unconditionally. would there were more in this world who knew how to do that!

Credit to the Love of God which transforms, where the credit is due. But thank you ...

Still trying to figure out the logic of this one...Unless your brain suffers some kind of trauma, I don't think you will be able.

Best wishes to your daughter and the little person she carries. So sorry for the hardship, but she won’t regret it.

St Peter is Pro-Choice too. And he won’t “choose” for these people to go through the Pearly Gates.

Congratulations!!! This is truly a joy like no other.
Our daughter Geneviève arrived last Friday -- two days after the SCOTUS decision:
A parent cannot describe the love he or she feels for the child, gently holding and caressing innocence incarnate. That one could feel anything other...
